Who Wants Dead Rising for the Playstation 3!!!!

I know that this article looks long, but please put your blue tooth Playstation 3 controllers down and READ THIS, IT IS IMPORTANT!!!! Iwanted to get my opinion out there and this point across. I am a huge fan of horror movies. My personal favorites are Dawn of the Dead, 28 Weeks Later, and Resisident Evil: Extinction. My favorite horror game is Resisident Evil 4 by Capcom for the Playstation 2. If you haven't played it yet you might want to get a copy. Now that I got a Playstation 3 I found out that there is almost every type of game for it except horror. Fear and Jerihco was a disgrace to horror games and doesn't count. I know that Resisident Evil 5 is coming out in the future for the Playstation 3 and I am looking forward to it, but nothing even compares tothe first Dead Rising for the Xbox 360. I don't recall that it was a pure Xbox 360 exclusive title either or Microsoft making it. This game screams Dawn of the Dead. I personally never have played it but it looks and sounds great, which is another reason whay I want it for the Playstation 3.I heard awile ago that Capcom was making it for the Playstation 3. I forgot where I have heard it from, but it sounds like a good idea. I have heard nothing recently about a Playstation 3 version of Dead Rising coming out though. I think Sony better some how "convince" Capcom to make a Playstation 3 version. Capcom could make it 1080p with new weapons and other cool features. I think that horror fans and Playstation3 gamers should make this more of an issue andsome how get the point across to Capcom. I would definitely consider buying it. I think that the game would sell. Capcom would have horror fans and other Playstation 3 gamers eating out of the palm of their hand. I think that the games release for the Playstation 3 would be monumental and a console seller. It is so easy to find a fighting game or almost any other game, but it is almost impossible to find a good horror game for the Playstation 3. I am a Playstation 3 fan and I know how hard it is to admit that a single Xbox 360 game is better than most Playstation 3 games. This game would benifit Sony, Playstation, and almost all the Playstation 3 fans out there. I know that this is going to sound extreme but, Playstation3 fans should come together and unite for this cause and fight for it. Remeber Capcom that it is never to late to bring back a great and amazing game.

But I read what you had to say & Dead Rising was a decent game, but not that great IMO. It was fun, but kind of restricted in what you could actually do & the save system leaved a lot to be desired. THe fact that games like Left for Dead & RE5 are coming to the PS3 is good enough. There's pretty much zero chance that DR will hit the PS3, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it on the system if Capcom does a sequel.

That aside, Dead Rising really nailed the "town of zombies" feel imo. Not enough games really give the feeling of a true zombie epidemic like DR did. Easy to kill (head shots, cutting them in twain, etc.)yet plentiful in numbers. For example, I haven't played RE4 yet, but the previous installments left a bit to be desired in the numbers department. In Resident Evil 2 I was under the impression that the entire town was supposed to be infected, yet it felt like the population of the town was in the low double digits. Dead Rising tells you that the population is 53,594 and it feels like it! I loved that feeling.

As Colorado said, though, they could definately improve on the save system (especially if they ported it), but maybe that was supposed to add to the challenge. Who knows?

Are you even a video game horror fan? Mass Effect was made by Bioware and was published by Microsoft so there is no chance of a Playstation 3 version.

Bioware was bought by EA, which is a multi-platform publisher. the only issue is that control over the IP has not been publicly stated. if MS still retains the rights to publish the ME games... then they will stay exclusive to the 360. but as one editor said (forgot if it was someone from GS, IGN, or 1up... probably 1up though), "EA doesn't buy dev teams to make exclusive games."

The game isnt that great, i agree that it has the atmosphere down...a tad. But thats all it has going for it really. Its not even a scary game, zombies are supposed to be scary, they are not on Dead Rising. IMO, its not a horror game, and you dont know what horror is if you think it is. A movie or game has to have that scary atmosphere to be considered horror, and DR does not.

Only 360 game I want to see is dead rising, it's a great pick up and play game, as long as you don't play it solidly you should be fine.

I agree that it's not a horror game, it's not scary, I just think of it as a fun casual game, kind of like pissing about in sandbox game, you don't really have an aim you're just there to have fun.

If it did come to the PS3 I wouldn't be in a mad scramble to discover the story, I'd probably just play the supermarket level whenever I get bored.moshakirby

It just seemed like for once Capcom didnt know what they were doing with a game, IMO. It wasnt scary AT ALL (were you ever scared playing it?). What i meant about the atmosphere was, for example, it made you think of Dawn of the Dead right? But was it potentially as scary as Dawn of the Dead? No, and to tell you the truth, the people you had to fight just got in the way. IMO there doesnt need to be bosses in that game, but they thought it was needed. There was just so many things wrong with it in a realistic horror kind of way that i didnt really enjoy it. Not to mention, the main character seems too over powered. I know its supposed to be some kind of zombie melee, but it seems Capcom obviously werent going for a scary game with Dead Rising.

Nope its not out for either platforms... but yeah it's been confirmed for both 360 and PC. Gamespot has it listed under both too if you need some proof.

You are definitely right on some of those things you pointed out. I personally never played the video game. The media and advertisementscan make almost any crappy game look extrodinary. I still think that it might be fun to have Dead Rising because even though it has its obvious flaws and is not scary, it is still very different from any other current Playstation 3 game and if it was released with a good bargin price like Capcom did for Resisident Evil 4 on the Playstation 2 it might sell a good bit and attract an audience of gamers.That could help the Playstation 3's sales. I bought Dead Rising for the X360 for $29.99 brand new last fall and I personally feel it wasn't even worth that. The controls were clunky and made a lot of aspects of the game awkward to play. I also hated the real time system they put in that made it so you had to be at a certain place at a certain time for the story to progress. It made it so you couldn't go about hacking and slashing zombies at your own pace(which made it hard to admire the game's great enviroments/graphics). Probably the worst game I have played this generation. All they needed was to fix the controls and the real time system and I think it could have been great.

Of course its not scary, zombies arent scary to begin with. I know dawn of the dead was metioned and im pretty sure your refering to the remake but even then there not all that scary it was only the simple fact that they can move and run around and actually chase you down that made them scary. DR went with the more traditional slow moving zombie, in the movies it wasnt all that scary by itself but it was their sear numbers that made them scary. The idea of being in a tight inclosed space with hundreds all around you, thats where the horror comes in.

Although i agree that capcom didnt pull it off quite as well, i still think its pretty good for a first attempt at such an idea. I also agree that the bosses were not really neccesary but i guess that was capcom trying to show how not all humans go the good path and can get evil,sadistic, and sometimes down right insane just so they can survive. I think DR should come out on the ps3 but probably should follow the same route as lost planet and come out at a reduced price, that way it wouldnt hurt your wallet to much.

Thanks, anytime. My friend has the game and before it came out i was crazy for it too. I do agree though it would sell, especially at a bargain price.

I get what your saying and i agree. I should have put more emphasis on how easily the main character can over power a whole group of them and not the zombies themselves.

The game played really slow (the main character who's name escapes me at the moment moved too slow for me to fully enjoy). Other than that it was a fun game.eosmera

yea his speed does get boosted with the lvling thing, theres also other speedy methods to getting around. If i remember right theres a food combination u can make that gives you extra speed.

If DR came to PS3 and had like online multiplayer, say like a last stand mode: 8(or what ever # of players) try to survive a horde

of zombies, probably just have an infinite amount of zombies. When a player gets bitten alot, then he turns into a zombie, if he is

killed as a zombie then he spawns as another zombie. And who ever is leaft after a certain amount of time has to get to the top of

the mall and get onto a helicopter, to be rescued. Or there could be no rescue, and the 8 players just stay alive as long they can,

obviously each match would last awhile.Stats would be like kills and how long you stayed alive.

Something like that would make me buy DR if it came to PS3.

Yeah. It was kinda fun at first but it got boring REAL quick.
