If you would like to answer this question, then maybe I could see how many really would wish for a remake of the best RPG game of all time and my favorite game too? Its such a great game and Square Enix are just afraid to screw it up. Thats why they problably dosent want to do a remake, but Its really the fans decision to make right?

There been countless threads like this one in the past. Many want a remake and there are many that think it shouldnt be done.

I think they should focus on FF13 now before even thinking about it.

I would like to see a remake done one of these days... Just as long as it stays true to the original PS1 release. Just update the graphics. :)

What the hells the point then? These topics really need to stop, it is a dumb subject to talk about now. Especially since FFXIII is going to beat the crap out of FFVII.

And no, Xenogears is the best RPG ever, atleast story wise.

ItWILL happen, Nomura and hisDev team said so, but they want their full potential to go into it, so there not gonna make it till theyve done the Ialice and XIII project :| take a good 2-3 yeras, and on top of that the 2 Kingdom Hearts games!

It will come though, Nomura and his Devs definently wanna do it - they said so themselves, No word on Nobuo Uematsu tho :(

In the remake i would like to see Voices, CG scenes and awesome graphics for the PS3 :) But NOTHING more to change, story and gameplay should stay the same! and so should the script!

@JudementEden: Not nessisarily. You never know. It will be hard to remake something to complete with FF7 simply because of the shockwaves from it. The graphics, storyline etc(of when it came out, the graphics if we look upon it now, stink). FF7 has had a MASSIVE staying effect that not many games have been able to produce.

I would love to see ther remake :). I just completed it recently and the storyline is fantastic!I think it may, or may draw with my fave story line in that of FFX. To me though, playing the game recently, it was the bad graphics that ticked me off and made it hard to play. An upgrade in graphics would be wicked :D. It may be nice to add some more places perhaps, or new missions. Not too sure though.

The FF13 combat system looks very interesting since it hasnt been done before. SquareSoft kick ass for their unique features, storylines and systems :).

Its very hard to decide which final fantasy whips which ones ass. For me anyway as they all rock. All have unique features which i love so cant make a general decision. :).

A remake might spoil it though i think. But in a few years i wouldn't mind playing =)

BTW. Im pretty certain it has not been confirmed and it was released that there would not be a remake. Anyone provide a link thats recent or this year, confirming this?

Why do so many people want a remake of FF7? Wouldn't you rather Square put their energy into developing new games? An FF7 remake would have awesome graphics and great gameplay but the story would still be the same. Since the story is what everyone talks about when they discuss the greatness of FF7, and we all already know how the story plays out, what's the point of a remake? Now, an FF7 SEQUEL...interesting...

I think different people have different reasons for liking final fantasy games. I know some gamers feel that the turned based action slows the game down, but I've always felt that in other games where the action plays out in real time everything gets reduced to frantic button mashing. Turn based battle often requires a lot of strategy and thinking ahead.

However, my main reason for liking final fantasy games is the story. FF games have consistently had some of the best storylines in gaming. If a game has a great story I can overlook other less than stellar aspects. I prefer to fight to save a kingdom or recover an important relic rather than just to get a high score.

But to each his own. People are attracted to different aspects.

I would buy a remake.
If they included all stuff that was cut from the final version of the game, I would buy it even faster.

Dont be ignorant, how do you know i don't love a videogame with a strong story? So you need to shut your mouth. I'm sure FF has a great story but the turn based action turned me off from going any further.

Not being ignorant here, but ..... you are pretty sure FFs have a good story, but the pretty-much-sorta-complex-turn-based-action turned you off, so tell me, which Final Fantasy have you played for more than 1 hour?

Just saying cuz you are clearly asking for the reason why FFs are so popular, and it is because of the stories and the cool characters, pretty much if you haven't played any FF game for more than a couple hours it is pretty hard to get hooked by it. But FF stands out because mostly just after the amazing CGI intros you just want more. (FFX for example)

i noticed that when i first played FFX but my problem was that the turn based thing just made it to slow for me bro i thought from what i had experienced so far that it was cool just not the way to attack. Guess its just not my kind of game but if it had the ability to fight like you do in kingdom hearts i would of definetly given it more time. You get me?

Don't worry, they already accomplished that with Dirge of Cerberus! But yeah, I'd kill to have a PS3-exclusive remake.

Everything in their games, their is always something SO unique.

The music is generally amazing.

The graphics each time is unique. Try and find a game on the ps1 that beats FF8's graphics. Its movie shots challenge that of a ps2.

The battle systems can get tedius but are changed each time. I like the strategic one personally.

There is most of the time, different level systems that are fun to play around with :D.

The storylines are amazing and mostly unique. For example FFX and FF7. The endings are basically unguessable and have NEVER been done in films. They are not simple, 'o happily ever after'.OR, 'the main character just dies good bye.'

They are all unique.

So simply. What makes final fantasy, final fantasy? In my opinion its the always unique features, amazing music, amazing storylines, generally fun level systems. (Like the sphere grid, or junctioning syste,) but certain things they will keep the same. For example most spells and most monsters though they change slightly from game to game.

i noticed that when i first played FFX but my problem was that the turn based thing just made it to slow for me bro i thought from what i had experienced so far that it was cool just not the way to attack. Guess its just not my kind of game but if it had the ability to fight like you do in kingdom hearts i would of definetly given it more time. You get me?954LatinoThug

I liked it. It meant you used strategy and not simple constantly hitting the attack button. Then quickly selecting a spell and attacking again.

If you wanted it to be fast, you just clicked quicker i guess.

IDK, i just really liked it :). You thought about your next move.

I want a remake and I am almost certain they will make one. Here's why:

Square Enix has remade 1 and 2. They remake games only if it will be profitable. As has become quite obvious, a Final Fantasy 7 remake will be bought by almost all Final Fantasy fans, and some people who haven't played the original. Also, the storyline and systems are in place, so all they need to do is update the graphics. (I admit, it's harder than it sounds.) but looking at all that, I would have to say that the guys at Square Enix would bestupid not to remake Final Fantasy 7. Thy have much to gain and nothing to lose (except time, and not very much of it.)

Yes! Remake. I would buy it. If you are reading this square, please make it. I could see FF 7 remake as the most involved, highest selling, compelling and most beautiful video game of all time.

You can always spot the FF newbs because they're always clamoring for an FF7 remake. If any game deserves a proper remake, it's FF6. But I'm guessing you kids weren't around for the 2D era. :)

I wouldn't mind a prequel, sequel, or a remake but with differen't things mixed in i.e Dawn of the Dead remake vs Dawn of the Dead original. But an exact word for word battle for battle remake? hell no. As much as I love the graphic upgrade. I'm not going to spend $60 and 100hrs of my life again to play someone I have memorized

I say make a FF7 remake to simply rocket PS3 sales into first place. No one can deny if a remake was created, rediculous amounts of consoles would fly off the shelves.

they should just make a true sequel and put an end to the stroryline, since a remake might hurt the reputation of the original.
