Um, I like Oblivion, I've logged ridiculous hours into it. But I know people who just didn't like it & couldn't get into it. Deal with it...

i have tried getting into this game but i go into the first oblibvion gate
and i just keep dieing and cant do anything..really boring

try just going through a bunch of bandit caves and leveling/getting good equipment. also, you don't have to kill everyone, i've snuck through an entire oblivion gate and killed only the 2 people at the top to get the sigil stone.

i've been playing this game for 2 years on 3 different platforms and still haven't gotten bored of it WTFHAX? people who say it's bad are just those rebel goons who want to 'be different from the crowd.' i mean seriously, whats there NOT to love? you can do anything and be whatever you want, and you can beat midget elves to death with your bare fists. hell you can even play some wiffle ball with mudcrabs! I was playing (trying to anyway) it last night after owning it for 1 year. I'm only at the first 4 hours because I couldn't get into this fake world.

How fake it is? Let me show you:

I just found this last prince and brought him back to Weny Prior to meet the priest. And the priest told me to get a horse so the three of us can ride to another place.

I went out and saw three horses, and I took one.

Then suddenly, the priest and the last prince were attacking me, saying that I stole their horses. I was like, what the FxxK. So I fought back and knocked both of them out. WHen they woke up again, it was like nothing ever happened. They got on their horses, and left one horse to me.

Then I realize why they say I was stealing, because I accidentally rode on the priest horse.

But look at this, it's so damn fake! How can the prince and the priest accuse me of stealing their horse and completely disregard my help, my role as rescuing the prince? And how can they pretend as if nothing ever happened after I beat the crap out of them?

Clearly, this game has no AI whatsoever. I'm glad I only wasted 4 hours on this game!

Oblivion is more addicting then Crack and theres no rehab for Oblivion.

well boyo, I liked everything except the level up system... I've been playing RPGS since the SNES days and this new "jump, fist, run, kill level up" was way too distracting for me... and I do know you could be at level 1 and finish the game... but lord knows that one of the core selling points in an RPG is to become obscenely powerful... that is MY point ^

I agree, Oblivion is no where near boring. I sometimes start over just to prolong myself playing it, and to restart somethings. I always save on one data slot. Once I got stuck inside the dungeon and couldn't do anything else besides start over. My character was a level 18 though and I had some quality armour! :(

Imo morrowind was a Much better Game.

meh, i have it on pc, got through the first oblivion gate, and havnt touched it since.. that was a few days after it hit for pc... couldnt get into it, not a medieval kinda guy... i know, make it a vietnam war game, with that kinda freedom, talk to people they tell you where they need backup and you go through the place on foot or chopper.. that would be a fun game, but make it so that everytime you play it, the battles end up different, you can play one time and your squads would be owning, then the next time they are getting rocked surrounded on all sides...

iunno its hard to describe the way i vision it.. always had that problem, but anyway, its a good game, but defiantly not for me.. give me a more modern time setting with something other then swords, or make the battles more epic, like the second LOTR where they have that huge archer battle.. that would be cool

Exactly. There are things I like about Oblvion, but on the whole it's just not good at all.

How anyone could not notice the lack of internal logic in the gameworld is something I'll just never understand. Nobody found it suspicious that guards are always stronger than you and far more numerous, yet you're the only one capable of closing Oblivion gates? Seriously, if I start going, the list of inconsistencies will just get more and more numerous. Then I'll want to start on the gameplay design flaws.

i was one of those who gave the game a chance on computer and like many others i got to the 1st oblivion gate part and i just asked myself... "what are you doing? are you having fun with this??" sadly the answer was a big NO.

Give me real RPG's please... Final Fantasy XIII, White Knight Chronicles, etc
