I don't know. I loved Fallout 3 and played it to death. NV doesn't look to change things up too much and I fear that, even with a new map and characters, it will feel repetitive.
But I'll most likely have a change of heart and get it.
Ya ill probably get it too, but i heard something about a different developer doing it. Anyone know what thats about?

Well Obsidian is developing Fallout:New Vegas and Beth is publishing it.
Thing is though Obsidian made Fallout 1 and 2 so really New Vegas is the true Fallout 3, and imo New Vegas for that very reason shall be better then Fallout 3 since the creators of the originals are working on it.

So you trust Beth a company that took the idea of Fallout over the actual creators of Fallout... LOL! Btw Fallout 3 is still amazing imo.

I didn't know fallout 1 and 2 won game of the year. It must have slipped my mind when I saw them on the shelf for $10. Fallout 3 sucked me in for over 120 hours of play and my friends too. I can even say that it's in my top 3 fav games.
Once i heard Obsidian was doing it, i got interested. I heard Chris Avellone, the lead designer from Planescape: Torment ( amazing rpg ! ) is working on it. Hardcore mode sounds great too.

Is that sarcasm because Fallout 3 got a goty award somewhere? Demons Souls also won GOTY on Gamespot and IDK why in the heck it did. Good game, but certainly not better then Uncharted 2 and others of the year.

Are you even aware how old Fallout 1 and 2 are? Beth took the idea of Fallout and brought it back to life, thing is though Fallout 3 is nothing like Fallout 1 and 2 and not because of the different gameplay, mainly humor and hell even certain factions (NCR).

Um no, Obsidian did not make Fallout 1 and 2. Interplay did. Certain members of Interplay, particularly of the Black Isle studio founded and run Obsidian but there were different people involved in both.
Obsidian has the capability to make a great RPG but they're always forcefully rushed and inferior to their predecessors (Kotor 2 compared to 1). Since they were allowed time to make New Vegas there's a good possibility it will be done well but for all the Fallout 1&2 fans that hated 3 don't expect a massive difference. One huge complaint long running Fallout fans have with 3 was the vast difference in gameplay and that doesn't appear to have been changed at all. It's nice key members in Fallout's original creation are back at the helm but as a long running Fallout fan that loved 3, I don't see it particularly mattering.
