I am...And I'm most interested in the Phantasy Star games. The package is such an incredible deal, though. Comix Zone and Vectorman were two of my favorites on the Genesis.

I sure am. My first console ever was a Sega Master System. I love old school games. I played over half of the games on that collection and completed most of them, but I need to replay many of them, for old time's sake.

I won't because most of these games were already included in the Sega Genesis Collection for PSP. Fun games that bring back memories.

I wonder if it has the option to connect Sonic & Knuckles with the other Sonic games? Kind of like where you have to hold select on Street Fighter Alpha 3 on SFA Anthology to get the Upper version.

I am for sure. The games? without a doubt: Streets Of Rage 1,2, and 3!! also happy that they included Phantasy Star 1,2,3, and 4. Not to sure why they added Altered Beasts (Arcade version) when they have the home version already included (?!) an excellent collection though. Can't wait to for more games to be added to the DLC list....

I am. I would pay the money just to get my hands on Shinning Force 2 again, never mind Phantasy Star 1 - 4 and Streets of Rage. Best collection ever.

I'm getting it, although I had to think about it for a while. I mean, other than the Streets of Rage games and some terrible games it's the same as the Genesis Collection they released a few years back on the PS2. Many of the methods of unlocking 'extra' games are the same. I'd imagine most of the behind the scenes videos are the same. The save state system is the same. They've added filters, yes, but that's not hard to do. Basically it's a rerelease so Sega can make money with minimal effort. And it's working, because I'm buying it. Although I am giving my PS2 collection to my sister, so it's not a total wash.

Also, a warning to anyone getting the collection for the Phantasy Star games that has not played them before - time has not been kind to them. The method of unlocking the original Phantasy Star is moronic as well. You need to complete the first zone in Sonc 2 with two players. That's right, in order to unlock a singleplayer RPG you need to own two controllers and play multiplayer. WTF.

I'm sure there will be a cheat of some sort... or at the very least you could just download a gamesave from someone who already had unlocked it..

Except now it has The Shinning Force games, perhaps my all time favorite RPG's and all at a discount price...

Does anyone know if the games recieved at least a bit of an overhaul or widescreen support?americahellyeah

Good news

Features

  • THE LARGEST COLLECTION OF CLASSIC SEGA TITLES. All the favorites are here including Sonic The Hedgehog, titles from the Phantasy Star series, as well as three titles from the Streets of Rage series, to name a few.
  • UNLOCKABLE CONTENT. Unlock arcade games and interviews with the original game developers as you earn Achievements on the Xbox 360 and Trophies on the PLAYSTATION3.
  • ALL TITLES UPGRADED TO HI-DEF. The ****c 2D ****never looked so good! Each of the titles has been converted to hi-def (720p) and will be a blast to play using the intuitive controls of the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION3 systems.
  • MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER OPTIONS. Play these ****cs together with a friend from the same console at home.

I own 4 controllers.. but 3 of them are broken :P so i'll likely do the same unless it has trophies which don't work with other peoples game saves.. i could always have a friend bring one over though i guess.

I'm not worried. I bought Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy 3(it's really 6) for Super Nintendo last year and they still look great IMO on a HDTV. Sprites FTW!!!8)

I'm referring more to the gameplay, which has more in common with the original Final Fantasy than anything else. They're about as archaic as RPGs get and are exceptionally slow-paced. Phantasy Star IV is the only one that's playable to newcomers - at least, it's the only one I could play more than ten minutes of.

Oh okay. I grew up on old school RPGSs so it doesn't bother me, but I can see how newcomers might get turned off.

Also, is Streets Of Rage 3 censored to high hell like it was in the 90's when it came to NA? Or did they go with the Japanese version with english text?

[QUOTE="DJ_Lae"]Also, a warning to anyone getting the collection for the Phantasy Star games that has not played them before - time has not been kind to them. The method of unlocking the original Phantasy Star is moronic as well. You need to complete the first zone in Sonc 2 with two players. That's right, in order to unlock a singleplayer RPG you need to own two controllers and play multiplayer. WTF.DJ_Lae

But that's when the RPGs were fun since they were actually RPGs, not button mashers like most RPGs since the PS2.
