Whos NOT buying gta4 and/or mgs4 and why?

Well, I suspect GTA4 is about some gangster who steals a lot of cars and kills a lot of people. I did that in GTA3 already, Vice City wasn't anything new, so I think I'm kinda done with this whole running around and shooting dudes while I belong to some stereotypical mob family thing.BenderUnit22

I won't be buying GTA4 simply because the subject matter and style of game just doesn't interest me. There hasn't been a GTA game yet that could hold my attention for longer than 20 minutes. No disrespect to series fans intended, its just not my thing.

MGS4 on the otherhand will be in my collection for sure. I just picked up the MGS 3-pack to replay the old ones to gear myself up for the finale.

I have a rough game spending flood coming.

I will be getting Both GTA4 and MGS4, but add MassEffect (pc) and Bionic Commando ReArmed to the list as well.

As for GTA being a gang/mob fantasy ... blaah ... I could care less about that stuff. The game itself is awesome though. I also disagree that Vice City was the same as GTA3. Vice City blew it out of the water. Story, Voice Scripting, Property, Music (for the 80's feel), added helicopters and motorcycles. Sadly it over shadowed San'A for me, making it feel less, even though there was more.

Being the only game to father the open world game-play, GTA series is much more then a thug game. It changed gaming.

MGS is however, much more solid. I fail to understand how some people can't find something to like about it. To each his own.

i'm not buying GTA4 because i was never a fan of the last games, the only thing i do is run around killing random people and see how many cops chase me. But i am buying MGS4 because it looks badass and it'll be a change from playing nothing but FPS games

I might not buy Gta im undecided.

Because im craving to play a new game. (the last game I bought was Cod4 in january) and I can Pawn! my friends online.

And yet I see little innovation and the game doesn't appeal to me very much.

Honestly, I have no intention of buying either Grand Theft Auto IV or Metal Gear Solid IV.

MGS4: The last one I played and enjoyed was Metal Gear. Yeah, the one on the Nintendo. It's just not really something that I ever got into playing. Maybe it's just a dislike of playing almost any shooter (or games with shooter aspects) with a control pad.

GTA4: Until things that I do in a game as open-ended as this actually matter, I'll pass. Nothing pisses me off quite as much as a game that is toted as being able to do anything, but it never really has lasting consequences on the game. That, and I hate that cops immediately know not only where you are no matter how sneaky you are about switching vehicles or staying out of sight, but gangs immediately recognize you and start to shoot at you. Come on. Not everybody has a pictographic memory and can instantly recall that you were the guy that shot somebody that you probably didn't even like 7 years ago when you were still in high school.

You know, a few months ago, these were two of the games that I was purchasing my PS3 for. But now, I'm just not so sure anymore. My interest in Metal Gear Solid 4 has, quite honestly, dwindled. I'm just not hyped for the game anymore.

As for Grand Theft Auto 4, it's pretty much the same thing. I can't put my finger on it, but I'm just not craving this game the way I thought I would by now.

I'm sure I'll end up picking both games up sooner or later, but right now, I sure as heck don't plan on standing in line at midnight for either of them.septemberluc

As far as MGS4 goes, I don't really intend on buying it, but if I check out the video reviews and it looks like something I'd get into, maybe I'll pick it up. I recognize they're great games, I just hadn't been able to finish one yet. I stopped playing MGS2 shortly after he turned into the ninja pansy and I stopped playing MGS3 because I ended up getting a 360 like a month after (and a Wii and PS3 about a year after that). It's nothing personal, I just haven't beaten a Metal Gear game since the NES Metal Gear.
