why are games out on the xbox360 before the ps3 UK (spiderman 3 the darkness)

since the ps3 has been out in the uk for a bit and multi format games are comming out for it and the xbox 360

why are the 360 versions out about a month before the ps3

i hope that this will not be the case for all the games like RESIDENT EVIL 5, GTA4, STRANGLEHOLD, PES 2008,ASSASSINS CREED

Isn't GTA4 being developed on the PS3 first then ported to 360???
I think the same might be true for Assassin's Creed seeing as how it started as a PS3 exclusive

Not This time man they are coming out at the same time and the 360 has things that the ps3 will not have!

Don't know for sure, it used to be related to the porting process, but now they are devloped in tandem (like The Darkness and Spiderman3) so that should rarely be the reason. If I had to guess, and it is merely an educated guess, I would speculate that it has to do with production capacity of Blu-ray lines. In order to make a blu-ray disc, you need a totally revamped production line (different from standard DVd or HD-DVD production lines.) I would guess that there are fewer of these production lines in use as of now, which limits the total output much more so than DVD-9 discs, which you could rent production lines for in order to do a massive first shipment. Forced to make diecisions, they may send the bulk of their first shipments to North America, and the PAl areas may get second printings.
