it was either and idiot who bought it or some guy in some unknown weird little island where the ps1 has just released yesterday.

Probably a scam. He asks for his friends to bid on it so it looks like people are interested.

This is a fake bid.

Have you every used ebay to buy anthing? You would know by checking the bidders info, they either have a brand new account (one setup by the seller to help drive his product higher in bids) or their feedback is less than 10. Most people are in the hundreds or thousands for feedback.

This has fake all over it.

My my case, that is not true. My ebay account has 2 feedback on it. But I've bought over a hundred items. I'm very merciless when it comes to ebay in a sense, I'll message the buyer of an item it seems no one is interested in. Asking if the item is not bid on when it ends, that I'll buy it. I normally get it for cheaper this way. I've saved over 700 bucks on a computer and 400 bucks on a video card :P

whoever made that bid probably won't pay. i got my ps3 from ebay for exactly 515 $ (including shipping) and it was the 60 GB version. and that was way back in january. (although it was listed as NEW, i found out when i got it that it was used. but it works like perfectly) i was pretty luck too.

probably

probably not, this is called "shell bidding", and the bidder can get into some serious trouble.
