why are there so many jerks on cod4?

I haven't honestly played an online game where I don't run into people like that at some point. COD4 and 5 have one easy answer to this problem though: HARDCORE. I'm not saying it doesn't happen in hardcore, but there are far fewer idiots and many more people who want to get a little more serious about it. Either that or just mute them (wish you could do that in the lobby).zaphod_b

i was playing with my clan and we had just gotten into a room of search and destroy and with in 5 seconds some jackhole starts yelling at us and telling us we suck and then after we mop his team up 4-0 leaves when we start asking him what happened to us sucking. or you automatically suck if u dont go rushing like a moron in search and destroy. seriously im starting to hate cod4 cuz of the amount of annoying ppl that are on it. and now that im a 10th prestige i get harassedfor no reason at all its soo annoyingasuredwolf53

I remember a long time ago people were saying that XBL "Halo" players were the worst bunch of people and the most vulgar people in the online community. Then people started to associate that with all XBOX people. I just want to point out its not the game nor the system that makes that happen but the person/individual. I call those people "cell warriors". They talk that amount of trash because they know they can't see you or you can't touch them and they get a reaction out of you. Its mostly the racist punks that do this. So don't let them get to you. You owned them fair and square. Your actions talked and they failed.

People say this all the time, but there is no such thing as a "noob tube". Grenade launchers are a part of war, and in fact they are very easy to avoid in COD. Same with grenades. It's war, folks. The winner is the one left standing. (or who dies the least) ;)

In my opinion, "prestige" is not all that prestigeous, but it is nice to have 10 custom classes. If I decide to go for prestige, that will be the reason. I agree with you on one point, though. Prestige doesn't necessarily mean you are good. It may just mean you play video games too much. :D

i hate people who trash talk especially when they win, and most of the time its a bunch of 14-16 year olds. Acting tough online but probably get picked on in school. lol .. i really wana try the XBL .. just so i could see what kinda of poeple are there .. i hear a lot of poeple saying that XBL poeple are mroe of the .. angry kind lol ... i do make some poeple angry tho .. on COD4 .. ps3 .. like they say go there but i wont and then they get angry and all i do is laughing .. and i always end up being the first ... lol its so fun seeing those poeple acting like that :P ... might as well try and play my cousin xbox for a couple of days :P

Some kids seem to get off on heckling other players. Usually they may have a low self-esteem in real life taking their frustrations out.

Symptoms often includes (but not limited to):

Mindless insults to a stranger they will never see in person.

Saying things over and over again. The shallow words "You Suck" or anything else that is vague.

excessive swearing with a touch of racism over and over again.

The best way to deal with this is to ignore them. Remember, they are saying this cuz they want you to become upset or check out how you react. For them, it is like a game within a game. They will soon lose interest in you and focus on another person. Most important, never take these people seriously. I am hoping when IW releases CoD:MW2, there will be a quick mute option.

To be honest, I think it's the game. Simple mainstream games that you can just pick up and play without a thought like COD4, RFOM, Warhawk, Halo ect, the chances of running into unintelligent dbags are much higher than a game that would require some thought process and team work (like Socom for example). They tend to stay away from the "smart games".

If I died from a head shot, or a sniper. I say good shot to myself, because I know it must be pretty difficult shooting a moving target. I usually take out my mic and just put it on the ground if anyone begin smacking. I just want to play the gameidk761

Players must earn respect. Can't trash talk your way through it. If a player is really good, he or she will know and not use words to cut people down. The great players will have too much pride to talk trash.

Very true. I'm usually one of the very few guys that would actually help someone in a game. What's the point anyways? You get better matches if everyone was good and knew what to do. I also find that people take it way too seriously and act like they need 24 hours in a padded room.

Why not? I bought the game in Feb 08 and I'm still not bored with it. Probably because I have 6 days of playtime. I didn't enter Prestige cause I didn't feel the need to. It is nice to whoop people with 10th level Prestige especially when they say you suck when they see your level.

Regarding those jerks, I don't care about them. I'm very chill when playing. I play games to relax and have fun

Any game that has that many people playing it will have lots of jerks. It's like that in any population......hillelslovak
