WHY are you excited for MAG? (Now with poll)

I've noticed that MAG has been getting quite a bit of hype. However, I am one who has failed to buy into this hype. To me, the game play I've seen (particularly what was shown at E3) looked very average and bland. I'm not saying it won't be a good game, but I just don't think it's going to be an amazing game some people are probably thinking it will be.

And so I ask the PS3 board, what is it about MAG that has you excited for it? Is it the 256 player battles? The 8 man squad-based game play?

I'm not bashing anyone who's looking forward to the game, and I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion of it, but I just don't see a reason to be excited for it.

Yeah, MAG looks pretty lame. I feel like I've played that type of game to death. I'm over the big team shooters.

I was not to amazed by the graphics. But the reason i am excited for it is because i am a big fan of good multiplayer shooter games. Like Cod4.

The size and scale of the battles is appealing to me

256players, squad based, hopefully a tactical shooter. Looking forward to seing how it turns out. I'm not expecting ground breaking graphics, more of a tactical gameplay hype for me.

Same here. But i do agree that the game needs some polish before release.

lol, another Playstation 3 gem to be shot down because no one give games a chance anymore.

this will be a month after pick up.

im more into it because i want to see how it turns out....lately alot of PS3 exclusives have been surpassing my expectations....and even though this probably isnt a first day buy for me...im definitely keeping my eye on it...why though? because it looks cool...you actually need to work together, and try and win as a team...a very big team....and they even said you cant just go out and run and gun or you wont last long...same with the killing seems to be real and they want to put an end to the BS deaths....thats why im more keeeping my eye on it then giving it hype...

Just knowing that everything you see on the battlefield is being caused by other human players... that's going to be one amazing feeling. It's gonna be one seriously competitive game too.

I used to be excited about the scale of the battle and the reward system for being a team player, but after seeing the gameplay vids shown at E3 I'm NOT excited about it anymore. I may still check it out, but its really not on my radar at all.Nephilim83

i got a question though...yeah the graphics arent great...but would you rather have a game that looks bad but plays great or a bad game that looks great??? i mean c mon...you can always paint a piece of$#!+ gold....but in the end its still just a piece of $#!+

I hope it is team based i don't want to play 256 player deathmatch that would be dumb. I want it to have lots of team objectives to keep it from goin bananas

I may or may not get it. It seems to have some COD elements and some Warhawk, and also new ones as well as rewarding the players for using TEAM work which not many games do. I have to see more for me to purchase it.

I'm just hoping it's good. I'm excited for it but i'm not 100% for it. Idk if i'm that hyped to get it but it's still a game i'm looking out for

i don't 'get' competitive gaming, whats the point, what do you get of it, sure you have the 'thrill of the battle', but this battle doesn't look very thrilling imo.

I've got to admit, I kind of got hyped when they said 256 player online battles. :P

However, after E3, it didn't look as great as I first thought. It looked decent, but not great.

It's true that it does look average and bland, but if you actually have people working together I think the team work would make it a lot of fun. Plus 256 player games haven't been seen on consoles before (that I know of) and that's one of the reasons so many people are getting excited for it.

So? That doesn't mean I don't like the PS3, in factI'm considering getting a PS3 because I have more than enough money. I really like MGS4, LBP, and Disgaea 3 but I'm not too interested in much else.

I don't get it either, the scope of the game is far from average IMO. Everyone has an opinion, I'll be picking this up unless something comes up between now and release to sway my decision, and opinions are not what I'm refering to.

Nope. I don't buy games without a single player experience.

When it was first announced that it was going to have 256 player multiplayer I was pretty excited, but, after looking at the gameplay, I"m just not that excited anymore. It has average gameplay and it's probably going to get an average score of 7.5.
