Why did Konami do this?

OK after a lot of thinking I decided to play MGO and it will be the first Online game I play since I like playing SP games only. now I installed it and it asked me to make two different IDs seriously this is unnecessary one user ID is enough I know Konami is using their own server but I think they could have make it much easier.

Do you know why Konami made it this way?

When the Konami ID site launched, Japanese gamers immediatly flooded the sites and tried to take every name possible to hinder any efforts of Americans trying to play MGO. :lol:
