Bit of loyalty. I've had a PSX then a PS2 from launch.

I've toyed with the 360 (but the achievement things were messing up my way of gaming. ie playing 40 matches in FIFA against the same Mexican team, is a ridiculous thing to do, but I was doing it).

I also want the Final Fantasy's and F1 games, and as well as taking advantage of backwards compatability. (Then I read the article about this, literally 15 hours after trading my PS2 in at EB - but it was over 6 years old and can't have had much life left in it).

Multi zoned gaming was a buzz. Now I can grab those US college and baseball games which never reach PAL territories.

Blu Ray was another factor. I believe it will out shine HD-DVD, look at the studios backing it. So the combination told me the PS3 was the way to go. The sixaxis motion side of things is a put off though, so happy to see games are not making us use it compulsory.

Same. I'm going to own a Wii in the future to accompany my PS3, so that I will have the best of both worlds: technology AND innovation.

I bought the PS3 mainly for three beloved franchises: MGS, FF, and R&C. There would be FOUR beloved franchises, but unfortunately the Jak series MIGHT NOT appear on the PS3...I hope we hear something about this franchise...I WANT IT REKINDLED, DAMMIT!

Primarily the games, but also a bit of brand loyalty. I got a ps2 about six months after launch and i played that baby almost as much as my pc (and that says a lot considering i primarily play rts games). While i love Nintendo platformers, and Zelda: TP spurred me to get a Wii at launch, the GCN honestly didn't get much loving from me last gen (well, just not as much as my ps2 and pc did). I didn't even buy an xbox last gen as the only interesting games for it were Ninja Gaiden and Halo, but Halo just barely as shooters tend to bore me.

So far i own a Wii and a ps3, and if the 360 gets games besides shooters, i may think about picking that up as well, but the lack of non-shooter games, the faulty hardware, and the fact that it's made by M$ will most likely keep me away from the system.

because ps3 is the best system in mankind i chose ps3 because of bluray mgs lair ff devil may cry god of warRENE2315
