why did't anyone mention this?!?

If you made a psn account after april 20th then you cannot get ANY of the free stuff. Gamespot could have mentioned that in thier articles instead of letting me buy a ps3 and get my hopes up for over a month

I get a message saying that this feature cannot be accessed on this account.

When I select the welcome back link it only has a pixel theme, no option to get free games

If you didnt have an account on the 20th you dont get anything. It says that on sonys webpage about the welcome back program, you should of read it. Dont rely on gamespot to hand feed you every little detal about something. Plus you dont derserve anything, your info wasnt compromised nor did you lose anything

Sorry dude, its been mentioned here, and on Sonys blog MANY times that unless you made a PSN account before April 20th, 2011 then you cant get the free Welcome Back games.

It was because you can create an account on the website and people without a PS3 would be like "Oh i can get 2 free games incase i ever buy a PS3". As previously stated it was a Welcome Back program not a Welcome program. Also it serves you right for not bothering to read half the information included in pretty much every PSN related thread, blog or website mentioning the outage. It was stated everywhere that you need an account from before April 20th to get the free stuff.

It's not unusual for Gamespot to leave out important information in their articles, or just get it wrong. Always a good idea to double-check with a reliable source.

Yeah, it's obviously to keep people from making new accounts and downloading multiple games. I just happened to have 2 accounts on my PS3, so I was able to get 4 of the games instead of 2. Seems that all 4 will be playable on both accounts, too... since I downloaded Dead Nation on my primary account, and am playing it right now on the other one.decepticondevil
