Most developers that do multi platform games have to port it from 360 to PS3. Square Enix addressed this and said that a more efficient way to do this and get high quality in both consoles was to build first for the PS3 and then port. Most of the ports we see today are from already released games, thus developers just want to "quick cash" them. The only dev I can think of pulling the best ever port is Bethesda, that got the updated Oblivion to the PS3. All the others were just speeding through porting process. Ubisoft appears to have taken Bethesdas way and decidedtake their time before releasing the game to solve many of th problems that come from cheap porting.
1st and 2nd party games dont have this problems as they are build with only PS3 on mind, and know what they can use and what they cant.
A good example of crappy porting from last gen is Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance on the Xbox. Im still wondering how it got to score so high (GS used to be so light hearted lol since if they had to review it with todays standards they would have massacred it).
Right now most of the multiplatform games on PS3 are ports of 360 games therefore the developers are not taking full advantage of PS3. When PS3 install base reaches the #of 360's out there then developers might start developing the game around PS3 technology. MGS4 is being developed around the PS3 architecture and it shows.
And also Sony's first party games take full advantage of PS3 without having to worry about porting to another console. Games like motorstorm, Killzone2, GT5, Uncharted and Heavenly sword look far superior than 3rd party multiplatform games.
cause... well, The 360 cant do the same stuff as the PS3. - PS3 has better... everything really.
Therefor, when you take a multi-platform game, if they design it for the PS3, they would have to decrease things for the 360. Thus resulting in more work for the developers, and also 360 fanboys wining and complaining about how the only reason the PS3 had better graphics is because *Insert lame, fake, made-up excuse here*
so yeah . if they design it made for the 360, then they can port it over to the PS3 no problem... they arent gonna RAISE the
graphics for the game for the PS3... they're too lazy. :D
[QUOTE="sharrak"]Assassin's Creed should look good then since they built it on the Ps3 and ported it to the 360.c0mplex
im pretty sure its the other way around. why would they show the 360 version in all of their conferences if the PS3 was lead SKU.
A long time ago Ubi said they started the PS3 one first, but noone ever cared about so I trashed the link.

Oh, I didn't know that. I thought when they released the statement that it wasn't going to be exclusive to the Ps3 that they were going to continue to work on the PS3 and then port it to the 360. I didn't know they ported what they had done and finished on the 360. I haven't followed the game so much since they announced that it went multiplatform.
