Hah im in PA and its always tax free. so when you buy your game it taxes it in the PSN store? well then change where you live then?
I'm in South Dakota and PSN cards are tax free over here. $20.00 or $50.00 flat. I've never been charged more than that.Superzone
Chicago/ Green Bay same here. I only pay tax on PSN, the card purchase is tax free... stinks in Jersey, I guess. Sorry, m'friend!

That's not right. You do not get taxed for PSN card when you purchase it in the store since you will get taxed when you enter the card code on your PS3.
I would contact Sony directly and talk to them.
Sounds more to me that the place you're buying it from it scamming people. Unless others are correct and your state has it as a law, which I'm hard pressed to believe.
Contact Sony directly, keep your receive and get the facts. You should not be taxed on PSN cards when you purchase them in your local stores since you get taxed during online activation..

Weird, PSN cards are tax free in Canada...
oajlu
not on Ontario Best Buy...I paid tax to get $20 PSN cards last year...
After I find out it, I use credit card now.
You got jipped. It's BS to pay tax for it. We have GST and PST (or ahem HST) online.
Gamestop charges no tax at all. I don't think Walmart does, but I've never bought one there either. Best Buy does like to set their own rules and their own prices. Before games got jacked up everywhere, Best Buy was charging $69.99 while everywhere else in Ontario was $49.99 and $59.99.

wow, that's so weird! in Saskatchewan they're tax free. just $20 & $50 flat. no taxHmmm based on previous responses, is it possible to trick your system into thinking you live somewhere which doesn't tax? Or does it just go by your IP address?
I live in Ohio and of course they tax everything.
