Why do people hate SONY so much?

Some people will dislike a game company because it its not the one they chose. Xbox 360 fans may dislike Sony because it is not the company they choose. I never figured that out. Others are fed up with Sony's recent behavior and unwillingness to admit the PS 3's faults. They have been arrogant about the treatment of the PS3, but its not like they are the first company to do so. Nintendo has done it as well. Microsoft does it. But I guess since they were riding the limelight from the PS2 that they were expected to behave more dilligently, especially after their system did not sell as much as they would like.

I just got me a Playstation 3 and I really like it. Yeah, it is a bit expensive, but I knew that going in. I have disliked some of Sony's decision, but I really liked the Playstation systems. I couldn't ignore the PS 3.

I'm with you on the bit that ps 1 & 2 were a good jump point for gaming... but when we've all went a year with being lied to and then delay after delay, like geez the psn still sucks.... put some more demos and trailers up... i think we bought out ps to play actual games. People are getting fed up with the Sony if they don't shapen up there gonna throw in the towel in the gaming industry soon.gameingfor25

There actually is a psychological phenomenon that, when forced to make a decision, after the decision is made, in order to completely rationalize the decision, the person will then look upon the objects not purchased with more distaste. I'm sure that's the reason some people don't like Sony.

I, for one, am waiting to buy a PS3, but am wary because of the BS that Sony keeps doing with the console...the latest ditching of backwards compatibility really makes me wary of how Sony is treating their customers. One of the great things about the PS2 was that it could play regular Playstation games...I never owned a PS1, but bought at least 5-10 PS1 games after I got my PS2. Unfortunately, with lagging sales on PS3 games, Sony has decided this is the way to make people buy more. I, for one, hope they have a little more patience with their system, for many great games are in production right now, and they could easily carry the system (such as Final Fantasy XIII, God of War 3, Devil May Cry IV, etc). The 360 had to wait a year before Halo 3 came out, so there's really no need for this panic yet.

Oh well, I'll probably just grab a discounted 60 GB PS3 on Black Friday (*fingers crossed*) or on Ebay once prices drop a little bit (I just need to not wait too long, because the want for BC might drive the prices of the 60 GB back up eventually).

I don't understand.. no company has giving more diversity of games than SONY. PS2 and PS1 were the greatest things that happing in gaming. If it wasn't for SONY we would still be playing games on Cartriages instead of Disc. I don't get how people can be so ignorant and hate SONY. Funny is when i ask people at my job(gamestop) what TV they play there 360s on... they say SONY, but then there telling me that SONY sux... i just don't get it...DuhQbnSiLo

Only fangils hate a company that mke a console as they hate every company other than the one they choose to support,which is pathetic supporting an electronic device makes no sense to me, i support newcastle united thats different i have an emtional attachment to my team of choice as i lie in the city where my football team is from.

But supporting a company that makes a console makes no sense, a real gamer goes wher the games go and IMO i like to have all gaming machines so i can play the best games eachsystem has to offer.

Also Sega had a sega cd console bfore playstation, and sega saturn used cd's the same time as ps1, even if sony never came into gaming technology would advance and the companys woul have used cd/dd anyway.

I love Sony, sony is top of the line in all electronics, except cell phones

People hate it because its more expensive(as it should be), people cant afford Sony products, so they envy. Sony is where they want to be in life, but they can't be Sony, so they hate, and they hate the people who can afford Sony, for the same reasons
