I mean, they are not up there with Killzone 2 and there is some pop-up, but these sort of problems are in all open world games.

I mean, take GTA4, it was a good game, but the graphics were AWFUL in places, and the framerate was like a slideshow at points. Also it had pop-in and loads of other glitches... but it gets praised for its graphics!?!?!?!?

I think InFamous looks quite nice and it has a solid art style. The pop in can be annoying, but its no worse than other open world games I have played.

The framerate also gets talked about and I was worried at first as I used to be a PC gamer and framerate is VERY important to me. However, having played the demo, through the rate does dip a bit at times, it is fairly minor and not nearly as bad as in GTA4 and many other games I can think of.. yet this always gets brought up?

I've honestly only heard a handful of people complaining about the graphics, and those were people without PS3's. :P The graphics are quite excellent imo.

I guess i am just picky about graphics after enjoying games like MGS4 .. . so I do have a PS3 I think the aliasing in infamous is pretty bad, but I guess this generation is still limited due to technology. Especially on an open world like this. Personally i would have sacrificed some loading times for better anti-aliasing and no pop-ins. but I will have to wait till next gen. I do thing the lighting and animations are awesome though. Oh ya and there is some bad clipping too. But I enjoy the game so much that I can definitely look beyond these minor issues.

I agree, the graphics are superb. They are as good as one can expect from an open world game, and the lighting effects go above and beyond in my opinion. Sure there are noticeable pop ups but they're actually pretty infrequent compared to the demo. I really only notice them every now and then. The people walk funny, but what of it? This is supposed to be more of a cartoony comic book kinda game. There's no need to stress on any realism. I actually think its funny to watch them move and interact with each other. They look like puppets on crack. Whats not cool about that? :P

btw i noticed somthing kz2 has graphics that are almost as good as crysis warhead but with 10x better animation and 100000000000x better death/ragdolls

I agree, the lighting/shadows are far above any other open world game I've played yet. And as far as animation is concerned, I think it's charming. It's not spot on realistic, but it also wasn't trying to be. Certain games like *cough GTA 4 cough* are trying to be overly realistic, and miss the entire point of games. Fun. :|

Oh, yeah, I forgot about the clipping! Man, its funny when you revive someone and they just stand up and fall through the cement! Oh, well. Like you said the game is so much fun that I hardly pay attention to that stuff at all. Excellent gameplay FTW!!!

Truthfully, it really doesn't matter what the graphic whores think about the graphics to this game. Your opinion, TC, matters most of all because judging by your post I can tell you like the look of the game as do I. Are the graphics perfect? Not by any means but they do the job and that's what matters most.

Haha! It's so nice that someone agrees with me for a change. I've been funning it maxed out the whole time, and despite some pretty textures and fully rendered open world I really didn't see what made it so great. How'd you like that last boss? That was a joke. I mean, it was a cool game, but there is so much better in terms of story and gameplay and even the graphics are becoming dated. I just wish my PC had more to brag about that that game. Its another prime example of how graphics don't mean everything. Don't get me wrong, it was fun. But it could have been a little easier on my PC's resources and still just as fun. I'd rather play InFamous any day.

I really like it. It really reminds me of a comic book, wierdly. Don't know if they were aiming for that, but the way animations are done, the way enemies look... I love it. It can be improved though, no doubt, but I'm extremely happy.

People complain about the graphics cuz they're not that great. I really enjoy the game, it's the best open world game since Assassin's Creed, but the graphics could be a lot better. I think I'm a third-of-the-way through with it and it kicks ass.

Graphics are not everything I believe it is a plus to have a good looking game. Lets take MGS4 for example the graphics are the best out for ps3 but if the gameplay was bad we would care less about that game. The way I see it if the gameplay is good we will tolerate bad graphics, but if its vice versa then we would care less about the game. Just my 2cents.

Haven't seen these complaints myself. The npc animations are pretty horrible at times, like when you save the meds and your friend comes to talk to you afterwards. She looked like a mannequin with the nutcracker mouths that just move up and down. The graphics overall are good though.

You have to ask the reviewers too but they said these graphic issues doesn't affect the game experience, so that's all that matters. But I do wish they didn't release it a month early, maybe they could have fixed the framerate, pop ups, and glitches from the get go. I hope they'll be a patch too soon or later on.

The graphics in most sandbox games are fugly. It's just a fact of life. The only one that looked good was Assassin's Creed, and it had serious framerate issues and pop-in as well. GTA4 covered up the fugliness by blurring everything and making it kind of pastel-colored, but it has it's issues too. I think the game is fantastic. It may not be the best looker, but the gameplay is seriously fun. I would have liked a little more polish overall, I think another month or two fixing framerates, fixing glitchy landscapes and smoothing out some audio bugs would have done wonders for this one. As it stands it is terrific, with another coat of polish it could be mind-blowing. It's a great new IP though and I look forward to seeing what they have to offer in the future. Good job to Sucker Punch.

All of these complaints are minor details that do not affect the gameplay whatsoever, they do not prevent you from doing your missions and stuff, so all of these useless attacks are just nitpicking just like the nitpickers from killzone2. No obstruction, no comment.

I think the game looks really good. I am only 5 hours in, but I think I have a feel of what it is gonna offer throughout the game.If you are complaining about these graphics you are probably skipping PROTOTYPE. That game's environments look real bland. It all about the gameplay though and that is why I have it preordered and will probably enjoy it very much.

I think most of the whining came from a bunch of trolls that either just never played the game or never played the game because they are in love with the wrong console. You know how people just like to p1zz on your parade when they ain't having one. Either way InFamous is a AAA game for a very good reason. If graphics were really as bad as those initial complainers were saying it wouldn't be AAA at all. So lets all be happy we have the greatest darn system on this planet that lets us play this BA AAA game!!! :P

Realistic ≠ better. But, when you get down to it, the city in inFamous seems more....alive then GTAIV's even. In my opinion anyways.

Could have used some anti aliasing and some of the models aren't so hot.. but it works and the art style is cool. Gameplay is more important and so far that has been awesome. (about half way through game)

people complain about graphics because they have to complain about something..

graphics aren't even a issue this generation..

i have had my system hooked up to a tv that supports 1080p with the right hdmi cable.. and i have had my system set to 480i on a tv from 2000..

yes there is a difference but the enjoyment from the game does not increase or decrease..

People will always complain when there is better exampals to compair to. And you know what, its a good thing. As long as its done right. As consumers we should keep asking for bigger and better. Its one of the big resones things actualy get bettter. if no one complained about gas mileage on cars we would still be driveing cars that only get sub 20 MPG.

How everwith that said, i agree that im pretty much ok with the games graphics. only thing i really wish was improved is better antiailsing to get rid of as much jaggies as posable. i HATE jaggies. I guess playing for 5 years on a high end PC that allowed high res and 8x AA spoiled me on that lol. But im not sure i agree that open world games cant have great graphics. i mean when Oblivion came out it had great graphics for its day and you dont realy get any more open world than that game lol.

The graphics are nice but the GTA graphics were better.

The graphics are pretty **** but I still love it. The "cut-scenes" are so ugly. (not the comic book parts, that's pretty cool) But yeah, I think GTA looks alot better than this game, but hey, considering how almost every thing in the game is tactile, I forgive the mediocre graphics.
