The more important question is, why do "greatest hits" games tend to cost less than non-"greatest hits" counterparts, when supposedly they are greatest hits because they sold a lot more, therefore suggesting higher demand which normally would lead suppliers to raise prices in order to maximize profit?
does xbox even have any games that are platinum hits
im not trying to troll or anything its just everytime i go to the store to buy games i have never seen a platinum hit game for xbox
My local wal-mart has all of their greatest hits PS3 games on for $17 right now. Since I have pretty much every game that is a greatest hit now I only picked up Modnation Racers :P
No, the most important question is why the **** are the greatest hits in those ugly red cases. The more important question is, why do "greatest hits" games tend to cost less than non-"greatest hits" counterparts, when supposedly they are greatest hits because they sold a lot more, therefore suggesting higher demand which normally would lead suppliers to raise prices in order to maximize profit?

That really depends. Some games that aren't GH stay very high in price, while others drop like a rock. So it could go either way.
Personally, 90-95% of the games I purchase are GH anyways. This generation especially, it seems like any game worth a crap becomes a GH eventually, with only a few exceptions.
In addition, not all of the GH titles are $29.99. As I posted before in a recent thread, SCE titles seem to like to stay at the $30 mark, but almost every other third-party game will eventually hit $19.99. Although some retailers might keep them higher.

Have you seen the european platinum editions ?That's ugly !!!
I disagree. I've been looking for Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2 Greatest hits for 20 bucks but had no luck. Kmart had a sale for them for 20 bucks last week but all of the stores by me and even the online store, was out of stock for BOTH GAMES.You can find almost all the Greatest Hits titles at 19.99.

Are you talking about the boxes with the Yellow cases? If so, I agree they are ugly (I've got one). Red cases are much better than those...
