In the mean time, prease add me on myspace, for I rike communities. And brogging.
1) Not everyone loves (or even likes) RPGs. Like not everyone likes sports games(i.e Madden[ing]), and not everyone is into FPS (despite what developers keep trying to force down my throat).
2) RPGs do more than build caluses on your thumbs (i.e Madden[ing]). They help you "think outside the box".
I like them because they have great stories, music.
And my favorite FF game is Final Fantasy X the themes in this game are awesome.

Exactly.
They take your mind off of reality and lets you dream big. The stories and deep dialogue creates a whole other world where you control a unique character and watch him/her mature through thick and thin. Where emotions run high and fantasy becomes reality, love and hate, betrayal and friendship... It's not so linear like most games, which you know exactly going to happen or im going to kill this guy and move on to the next one. It's unpridictable, you never know what will happen next, which keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting till the very end to find out if things happen the way you pridicted or was it a twisted ending that left you guessing.. Most not all Rpg's are great, but when you find that one it's addicting and leaves you with unforgettable memories of laughes and sorrow experiences.
... :) ::::thinking back::::

Well, I can't stand RPGs. I don't even like ones like Oblivion. I rented Oblivion twice and practically tried to force myself to like it. I just can't stand games where you collect like a million things and have to manage your inventory. b11051973
ya thats not really "funn" to me..
[QUOTE="Zidaneski"]Why do people like RPG's? Thats easy. Why do people like reading books?box0rocks
LOL but i mean i will enjoy a rpg, but its not my first choose in genre
Neither is reading a book for me. My first choice is videogames. Reading a book tells a story that you've never heard before and gets your brain thinking about how it will end? It also allows your imagination to picture what everything looks like.
An RPG has a story that we've never heard before(hopefully) that we experience by playing the game and overcoming the obstacles that the characters have to overcome. The many options that are given I feel is where the imagination comes in. There are many different ways to prepare your characters for the epic battles that come your way. The different aspects of gameplay that each game has forces you to think in a different way as opposed to the obvious, shoot, punch, race, jump that most other games in other genres repeat over and over.
I have been getting less patient with traditional turn-based RPGs which is why I passed up on Dragon Quest VIII and veered more towards the action-RPG, such as Dark Cloud, Kingdom Hearts, and Crisis Core. I enjoyed Valkyrie Profile 2 but that has a weird enough battle system that kept me interested. And I got into Disgaea games purely for the crazy attacks and hilarious story. I couldn't finish playing Star Ocean 3 because the story was too slow, music was too futuristic, acting and dialogue were horrible. Sure it had some interesting characters and gameplay but if the story gets boring you eventually just stop reading.
I fell in love with RPG's many moons ago, when they were 8bit 2D. They have come a long way and I am very pleased with they way some of them use the technology. Depending on the gaem mixing potions casting the appropiate spell at the appropiate time is really a cool thing to do. I hear some new RPG's will have a more interactive or real-time battle engine, instead of waiting to get hit you will be able to dodge and counter. I thinl FFXIII Versus may be like that if my memory serves me right.
