Why do you guys hate delays?

I dont get why you guys hate game delays.

Apparently they're fixing something or making something better in the game if there's an delay.

We get all hyped up about a game release and plan when to get it, but then it gets delayed and ruins your plans. EX: GTA IV

I hate them because the developer promises they'll deliver something by a certain date. When they don't, you're disappointed. Developers either need to set more realistic release dates or just not set one at all until they're absolutely sure when it will come out.dewmandew7

I don't mean this maliciously or anything, but what a stupid question. why do we hate delays? because you get built up and excited, like yes 10 days till release wooop woop! OH WAIT A SEC, IT'S NOT OUT FOR ANOTHER 3 MONTHS. yeah ok they're making it better, but they shouldn't have said the original date and they should decide 1 date which should be final after completely overviewing and summarising the game.Xternal

I'd rather have a game now and patch it later. Time is money. Also, they often delay games to increase their profits in certain fiscal quarters that may not be all too great looking otherwise.
