It feels like a classic indy film for me, I don't care about it being predictable its all about the great effects, characters and voice acting plot has been done before but Uncharted still did it well.

Well, those of us who say this plot for uncharted was so good say this because that's.....READY?........OUR OPINION. Do you think everyone should sink to the bottom of the sea when there are life rafts floating above just because you can't swim?
Predictable? I would not say that. Had maybe the best twist I have seen in a game since FF7.
And again the ones on these boards who pretend to play have no clue. If I had a dollar for opinions on these boards. That are based off of guesses, or what people read or see on youtube, instead of playing the full games. Man.
But it was one of the biggist plot twist I have seen in gaming.
I was just wondering what people thought made it good. sorry for offending anyoneXetis27
No offense lol. But really the story was fun and solid. But that twist is what pushed the game to a different level. Completely different level! Everything in the game, "even how you play it some" changed do to that. It was a great twist. Plus you had love and loss. Kinda?? lol And Bad guys, and how the story fell into the game. It was like the cut scenes did not have to be forced, they were in the flow of how you played.
I take it you did not like National Treasure 1, or any movies like that?

I agree. Xetis, you didn't offend me, but the plot twist at the end was NOT predictable...far from it. Those of us who like it...like it because it our minds it was a good game.

The only unpredictable event is the twist near the end. the rest of the game is the standard action adventure movie. much in the likes of Indiana Jones, which is why the story got popular specially in old timers like me :P
In most games i just expect the plot to be good. guess i have been playing to many RPGs
Xetis27
Majority of my games for ps1/2 were rpg's, so I mean you can't really say that. I'm a huge rpg fan and I still very much enjoyed this game.

LOL. I enjoy that stuff also.
But What I meant by fit also. Ill pull one thing out.
Remember when you get busted out of jail. The cut just flows right into a great shooting "while being driven around" game play experience. Which was pretty wild. Then it stops at kind of a cliff hanger "bad joke :/." And then you fall from that. Right back into a whole new area of action and scenes mixed in. It just works so well in that game. And its constant like that. Everything just fits well.

Im a big RPG fan myself, but from time to time, I need a simple plot to clear my mind. I did liked the story, its cool, simple but cool. And the game fuses greatly with it making it more movie like and unlike an RPG, you are more eager to start playing again that hearing more about it.

Really, did you played it? Its a kind of "one in a kind" twists, like its so big thats pretty hard to forget, especially in a 6 months old game.

is it the fact that the treasure turned people into those zombie thingies?
tbh i didn't find it too predictable in the later stages when you went underground.. i was like no way! (something along those lines) and yeah amazing game but i mainly liked it for the mood that it created, especially when you are climbing the lighthouse bit, best bit in the game imo..Steve_ps
Couldnt agree more. Really wasnt expecting it.

The curse turning people into the zombie monster thingies.

I wasn't that surprised because it seemed like they were hinting at it the entire game.
Xetis...i can see what u mean...now all u people getting ready to bash me just a sec...i like uncharted and i still play it even now...but i think what the TC means (now i could be way off here) but from what i gather from what he says about the rpg story lines compared to this is that in most rpgs ur wondering all the time about a few different people and what they are up to, are they evil, good, what drives them? however in this u know the deal...im not saying the plot isnt good...or that it was predictable...im just saying rpgs tend to have a much deeper and rich story...not saying uncharted is bad in anyway...not at all this is one of the best games of its kind, however im just thinking thats what the TC is thinking...but its same around the board pretty much...out of all genres of games rpgs prolly have the best storys...in general...there are some amazing storys in other games too of course way too many to mention...but i mean...in a shooter the gameplay would draw u in...even if it had no story mode...perfect example of this is Warhawk...no story at all but still one of the best games out right now...on the other end something like...example FF7...now the battle system in that was great dont get me wrong here im just saying a game like that with a story like that i would have played even if it was like a card based battling system...uncharted has a great mix between story and gameplay i love it...(again i could be way off on this but its what i think)steve4200
Sort of, but the main point was that i didn't think it was original.

I think part of the reason why people are so drawn to uncharted's plot is a combination of all of the games elements. The fact that the plot meshes seemlessly with gameplay and that from the top to bottom the flow of the game feels just right. The voice acting through the game is awesome and it's furthered by the fact that the main characters in the game are likeable. Like others have said previously, it's also like a classic indiana jones film and as a result Uncharted provides a familiar and nostalgic feeling while at the same time being something new. It's not overly complicated. In fact, it's simplicity is part of the fun.

I think you pretty much answered your own question. It is like any adventure movie before it except it's not a movie...it's a game. It's like an adventure movie which makes the story seem not so sub-par to me.
