Up in Canada, we still get Call for Help on G4. I don't know if any of you do, but it's a nice geeky show that gets me and my old man some info on what's going on with our stuff and what we should download or buy to improve our comp's, IPods, etc. It's a good show, I don't know if you guys get it in the states. Leo said he was cancelled by G4 before some how getting back on TV in Canada. After that show, I just sometimes carry over into Cheat, ATOS and XPlay. And I hate them.
because it's G4...cops and star trek?...neded I say more? Things were a lot better before the mergerWardog0080
WOW! Up in Canada we don't get no Trek or Cops. Yikes that sucks!
im gonna do what i do every time we start talking about g4 start talking about olivia munn and layla keighly however u spell her name dang love thos nerd goddeses

Have any of you actually cared to think that some of the many negative comments about Sony's PS3Â may actually be true, besides being in a denial state of mind because of fanboyism. Just my take on things...if Sony made mistakes they can't be ignored just like Microsoft's Elite mistake in my opinion.gamer082009
Dude, this ain't fanboyism. Everything Sony's does or says is bashed by this freaking channel. Seriously, watch the thing for a second. It's Wii and 360 love galore! It sickens me!
sony has done 1 thing right so far and that RFOM yay and i cant wait for the rest of the stuff to start going in a positive dirrection which it is with euro launch now someone agree with me on the attack of the show girlsd!!!

Olivea is hot. Very hot. But actually, for some dumb reason, I like Kristin Holt more. She hosts Cheat and sometimes does The Feed. I don't know, I think she has a better personality actually. A girl needs to look good, but she needs to have personality beyond that of a sex-driven drama queen. At least that's my opinion.
beacause it's trendy to hate sony right now. G4 would rather give up being credible and reliable if it meant they were trendy in the eyes of the "hipsters" watching their show.
and, forgive me for asking, bu why in the hell do you watch G4 anyway?

I agree. I barely watch even X-Play anymore, unless they're doing a game I'm intrested in. Only show I watch is AOTS, and that's just for whatever. I catch Call For Help whenever I can here in Canada (but it clashes with my 6 o'clock news)
Â
Honestly, I could care less who says what. You can't really take anything but with a grain of salt. Also, if it does piss you off and you're losing sleep over it, then maybe you should seek help. Stop treating it as if it's some agenda to "wage war with Sony fans". If you like it, you're getting games for it, the system is not failing, then why should it matter what some random person on a fourm or some TV show says? People that own PS3 like PS3 and that's all that matters.
Â
BTW, Go Canada! =PÂ

Right we are the fanboys for being annoyed that G4 claims PS3 launch in Europe failed because they "only" sold 600,000 consoles in 2 days ....

i watch that show with my dad too. But in AUS. it's on the how to channel because we don't have G4.
Attack of the Show reports that the PS3 Euro launch bombed, and then BBC reports it actually sold 600,000 units in Europe while shipping 1,000,000 units in total. What does that say about how Sony did? THe PS3 rocked in Europe and now Sony will easily achieve their goal of selling 3,000,000 by the end of march. That and X-Play thrashes every PS3 game that comes out (except Resistance, not that they had much choice about that) and keeps saying in their reviews things like: "you can start thinking about mistakes you've made in your life, like buying the PS3." It sickens me when Sony is doing well and bias comes into play in one of the biggest technological media conglomerates on cable TV. SkyCastleDanbecause they dont have their own opinion, the only reason they think people will watch their show is for sony bashing, watch gamertv instead, they insult and praise every console :p
the only shows i watch on g4 are Call for Help, Xplay and the anime series
AOTS plugs their show too many damn times its gets annoying every few seconds you hear "your only source for the stuff you care about"
hey, ninja warrior is pretty amusing, imo, it's fun watching people believe they've got strenght only to beef it halfway through the stage.
Â
and as far as hate is concerned. yea, they're pretty biased, i gave up listening to anything on that channel...... but i do swear i heard Rhapsody of Fire being played in one of the xplay reviews.. you can't go wrong with Rhapsody (of Fire) lol!Â
This isn't rocket science folks. Sony put out 1 million consoles for several countries to buy and hyped the console up for about 2 years now. To not sell out on launch day means that in all those countries only 600k people really really wanted a PS3. Greater supply of PS3 over Wii or 360 be damned....it was only 1 million consoles for several countires. It implies that those other 400k are going to be sitting on the shelves an awful long time. Atleast judging from the immediate slow down of sales in Japan and North America. It may not be a colossal failure but it is at the very least disappointing for Sony.
The bottom line is they just don't have the games that will move a console at this time. They don't have the exclusives they need to have out at this time. They desperately need a couple near perfect games that haven't been available on other consoles for months.
No matter what the fanboys say the facts speak for themselves. Depending on what numbers you read despite having ample PS3 stock, the 360 is outselling the PS3 (at best the PS3 is selling the same number) and has since the PS3 launched. That is not a good sign for a new console going up against a console that has been out for a year. If 360 gets a couple of more excellent games that move consoles which looks to be the case this summer/fall it could really hurt Sony.
Now all this doesn't mean the PS3 is doomed. It does mean they probably need MGS to remain exclusive, for it to come out before the holiday season, and for it to be a great game. They probably need one or two other exclusive great games. If for whatever reason MGS starts to slip out until 2008 and Sony doesn't have that great console moving game for the holiday season it could be a complete disaster.
Until Sony gives a reason for people to buy the PS3, it is going to sit on shelves. It all about games. It's not about the bells and whistles the console has.

Do you think that the PS3 will be the next Dreamcast, I don't think so. Sony have so few good games from there first party line up coming and maybe I hear that a price drop is coming soon.

Probably not no because I believe they will have some very good games out by the holiday season and one of them is bound to be a console mover. But I do think they are going to lose significant market share for this generation of the console wars. I think there is a good chance they do not come out on top this time around and that isn't a good thing and not something many would have predicted a couple of years ago. I think Sony have made a couple ofo mistakes:1) they rested on their laurels and were arrogant about it
2) I think their is a signifcant chance that with the PS3 they tried to be all things to all people...they want to be a gaming machine yet also a movie player (not to mention internet browser etc) and somehow ending up coming up "short" in both cases. No not in terms of power or capability on the games front but in terms of pricing people out of the market when there is already a strong competitor that can do similar things at a cheaper price solution that does proivde configuration options and allows people to build the system up slowly if they choose not unlike the PC market (the majority of developers have said the power of the 360 and PS3 are very comparable). On the player front, indications are the HD movie viewing experience is not going to take off for quite sometime and within a short time the PS3 will be a lower qaulity player (it's how the market is driven..like the PS2 and Xbox in the end were inferior DVD players). Given it's videophiles who are purchasing the HD movie experience now and for the foreseeable future, they will probably not be turning to the PS3.
Â
Just my thoughts. I don't think it will go the way of the Dreamcast. Though there is that chance if they go into the next holiday season with a lacklustre lineup of games. But the holiday season is a long ways away to suggest that at this time.
Whenever you get upset at G4 for:
a) continuosly hearing them berate the PS3 and Sony.
b) bringing on repeats of The Man Show, Cops and other non-gaming shows that no one cares about.
c) seeing Kevin Perreira's smug face on Attack of the Show.
d) all of the above.
Just click here and you'll feel alot better:

Agreed. I actually used to watch AOTS but all the constant Sony bashing grew tiresome. I haven't watched it for a few months now. I also find that Kevin Perrera an arrogant dips**t and I love to wrap my hands around his throat. The chicks on the show are hot though. Espescially that Lela Kayle.

Dude, G4 sucks now more than ever. They stopped being a credible source of info a LONG time ago. I don't know of a single soul who actually likes them post-2004. G4 has been rated as the least watched cable tv station for the past year and a half. I don't kow, I just especially hate G4 because it goes to show what selling out really does to things. Just do the world a favor and stop watching G4, the sooner everybody stops watching, the sooner it will shrivel further and die finally, away from our beloved cable lineups, because remember, not only do you hate that channel, but you have to pay to hate it.
its pretty wikid that G4 can upset you. Then again you are a sony fan boy and you fan boys tend to get pretty upset when someone says something bad about your beloved ps3. This may cheer you upNo friggin way. Hahahahahahaha, that is awesome & funny to.
