why does psn keep signing me out?

why does psn keep sgning m out. its soo anoying i cant even play cod4 online for one hour witout it saying conection interupted nd then signing me out. i ceked internet settings and im on 35-47% signal strength. is this the reason? i dont think it should be because im always on my laptop wireless and that also has 45% strenght, i never get disconected from that!. is this a IW server problem, psn server problem or my wireless problem?

help would be very appreciated:)

yesterday they said some accounts were compromised cus someone hacked them. check out the whole article here:

Check for updates also that may be your cause as it won't sign in unless you update.

And yea if not contact sony about the hacked news.

I have had this problem. It was mainly on CoD4, but since the Patch and the 2.20 Firmware Update I haven't encountered it.

However as far as I can tell it was some sort of compatibility issue between my Wireless Router and the PS3, because I've had problems with it before.

This worked for me. Updated router firmware, and removed WEP 128-bit hex encription to a lesser encripted WPA2 secutiry. Problem solved.

PS: The closer the router to your PS3 the better. 45% signal may be fine surfing the web, but playing online requires your signal to carry a lot of data back and forth. Weak signal is always bad.

i dont wanna move my ps3 to anoher closer room bcoz there is no hdtv in there:(. have n e of u guys herd about port forwarding?

actually, my wireless is unsecured. could this possibly bethe reason?

yeh cheked for updates, no update.

HOWEVER, when cod4 says conection interupted psn signs me out. then wen i go to xmb and internet browser, the broser works perfectly. thismust mean there is a problem with psn with my ps3. do you know why?

Make sure to also turn off your Media Share thing.

Try what Doolz said, and if that doesn't work, you need to have your PS3 closer to your router because you're just too far for it to establish a stable connection.

The PS3 browser may work fine from your distance, but the PS3 browser isn't constantly transporting data through wi-fi the way video games do.

Anytime the signal gets around 80% then there will seem to always be problems. My wireless signal stays between 90% and 100% constantly. The very best connection would be wired directly to the modem. I don't have much of a option because of the way wire would need to be run to reach the PS3.

i sometimes get the same problem because my connection is between 50-70% usually.I use a range extender and I find that when I start having problems I just move it to a new location and it works fine again. Wi-fi signals are very strange and unpredictable so they can been a pain sometimes.

today mine said error and I was signed out, but I pressed the ps button and signed right back in, no problems after that.

Wow...time to get some more free games from PSN if that's the case.

Im speaking from my experience but the ps3 does not work online below 50% which is a fact but if you want to increase your internet speed put a password on your router because every computer that shares the signal makes it lose the % so try putting a password so your neighbors dont use your connection on their laptops. As i stated before this happened to me my connection was 47-52 (barely worked) now its 72-85 so a password definitely helps. Ps: cod sucks up internet and can easily crash it damn blops
