Why doesn't anyone have a mic

I don't own a ps3 but I played it at a friends house and we played warhawk and metal gear solid online for about 3 hours but no one in any of the games had a mic. I was wondering if people acually use them in more popular games like R2 and COD5.

I have a mic but hardly ever use it, heck I own 3 different mics...

In more pop games youll see ppl have them, but theres rarely any real talk...Or strategy for that matter. Hlaf the time the things you hear are:

"F word"

"You suck newb!"

"Dude, your horrible"

"Random noises"

"Little kid threatning you, or atleast trying"

I mean, whats the point of mics anyways? Ppl talk smack, swear or have random noises going through em nowadays.

Don't know about CoD or R2, but almost everyone on Socom has one. Actually it's pretty rare to see more than 3 people in a room to not have one in SocomChoco_Taco

So did Warhawk, but many people still didn't use it. I guess it's because Socom is more team oriented

That's probably what im going to do because it feels like xbox live has a better community but ps3 has graphics and exclusives(I really don't care for any of the xbox exclusives except for th ORIGINAL Gears od War)John827

I use a mic for all my games. Theres hardly anyone using a mic on MGO. Lots of people use a keyboard though so its not so bad. CoDWaW is much better if your looking for players with mics. Alot more peopling making stupid gun noises, rambling on about something or swearing at people that usually can't hear them or talk back. Online Co-op campaign is alot better IMO.

Rock Band is in between. More mics than Metal Gear Online and alot less swearing/etc than CoD

I am happy that most people dont use mikes. I have been playing cod4 since april online, and not once has some1 used the mic to actually use strategy for their team. Mikes just equal a way for idiots to rant, blast their music, and make you listen to horrible static on their cheap mikes.lazyhoboguy

Not an excuse. So what your saying is someone that has money to but a 400 dollar console, 400+, cant buy a 20-60 dollar mic? Seriously? Not an excuse. Plus to add to that, 2 different game titles that offered mics...Socom and Warhawk.... Even if they included a mic with every console, it wouldnt mean everyone would use it all the time, some ppl just dont like talking...Its a fact.navigata
