Why doesn't anyone know about Valkyria Chronicles?

It seems it kinda sneaked it's way into release.. I only found it 2 days prior to the release date, played the demo and enjoyed it.

There have yet to be any major reviews so I'm not entirely sure what to think. Though I did like the demo, if the gameplay stayed at that level.. the game would overall be pretty repetitive and linear... just going through battles and then upgrading equipment, and so on.. but that's just an assumption.. actually considering getting it, just the lack of attention it has received is discouraging.

This game is pure awesome. Theres soo much stuff you can do in combat I'm surprised not many people are not more vocal about this. I've never been into large scale war videogames but a hybrid game like this I couldn't pass up. You can snipe, crawl through grass, take cover, plant mines, use flamethrowers, get allergies, use rocket launchers, team attacks, duck from enemy fire, throw grenades, sneak up on enemies, repair sandbags, call for reinforcements, capture bases, use a frickin tank thats equipped with mortars and machine guns, give out orders, and everything is upgradeable.

This is by far my favorite game for the PS3. It may even be my favorite game of all time once I finish it.

This is definitely a great game. I got it at circuit city for 45 but it is definitely worth the full price. I am enjoying this game way more than littlebigplanet and to me it beats out mgs4 for my game of the  year choice. 

I feel really bad.... like, REALLY bad. I'm normally the first to humiliate someone if they're daft enough to pass on a game without trying it themselves, and I myself have done this exact thing with Valkyria.... I just heard the name and thought "bleeeeurgh, Japanese RPG... *cringe*", and it seems I was 100% wrong and unjustified.

I have learned my lesson.

I'm going to check this game out today on my lunch hour in the local GAME store now.

It's a great game, and is getting rave reviews. I never even like games of this genre, but this one is definitely an exception.

This game will be my personal  sleeper GOTY.  And my first true PS3 jRPG exclusive.  After having played the demo, I immediately placed a pre-order for it.

And I'm still waiting for it to arrive.  Hey Sega, where's the marketing?!  Publicity is pretty much non-existent!And every single store I go to either don't have it in stock, or haven't received their shipments yet (I'm looking at you EBGames!).

Every ad is either GeOW2 or R2 or COD:WW.  There is zero marketing for this poor soul.

Great game!!! I'm on chapter 15 and am having a difficult time beating the valkyria!! I have elite scouts, Shocktroops and Engineers but the buttwhippin' I'm getting is very challenging! :)

This game has so much depth for strategy and character development. You eventually end up with 2 tanks which can be modified and equipped as you see fit depending on the circumstances. I equipped my smaller tank with a flame thrower for this scenario and I now see this was a mistake. I may need to do the preliminary stuff over to have the proper equipment for this epic battle in a citadel. :)

most gamers don't give a crap about turn-based stategies anymore....i played the demo and can see how people would go..hmm...should i get cod or valkyria chronicles....or r2....or even fallout....crowded holiday season....the game looks really neat...kinda interesting..but most people arent gonna put up 60 bucks for a game like that.pillage05

This game IMO is one of the BEST games this year. ENough with FPSs like R2/COD5/etc...all the same thing. This game is fresh, innovative, and has a great story, great leveling system. Just amazing. Those who don't have it and who are even remotely interested in RPGs are definately missing out. Put down the FPSs...

Whoa don't get carried away and spoil it. I have to say this is my GOTY and everyone should try it cause its real easy to learn how to fight. Also, each time I play this game it seems more and more stuff gets added. I can now call for a mortar strike, sniper support, my scouts and shocktroopers units have different weapons that all have their advantages and disavantages, more varied squad members that are starting to get more diverse. One of my favorite moments in the game was when I had Alicia run past some guards only to step on a mine and get blown over a cliff I was like :shock::lol:

Haha yea, once I thought I had a really good setup and all of the sudden a shocktrooper popped outa the grass and owned like 3 of my guys. I am only in around chapter 5 I think. I wonder if the game really does give you as many hours as they say. I spent about an hour just doing the first skirmish over and over again till I got it perfect. I just send the tank down and mortar the first guy with the badge. Then have alicia run behind the fences down to the end and toss a nade at the other badge scout. Then within one more action she can run down, kill the last guy and take the base flag all within one turn.
