The game on its own is the same price as other new releases. If you are looking at the hardened edition or the other release editions they include extra crap to jack the price up.

Actually, I agree with you :D We're not surprised that you agree. Anyway, TC it costs more than usual because Activision are greedy bastards and they suck. Nuff said.
It costs more because people are stupid enough to pay it. I don't know how much the supermarkets wll be undercutting each other for sales, maybe not at all.
I don't understand TC's post considering that it's being sold as any other regularly priced new game? Is he/she talking about the collector's edition or something? Or maybe in another country it's being sold for more than usual? Here in the US it's still $60 for standard edition.

There was a price hike by Actiivision in the UK. MW2 costs 54.99 pounds over there, or about $90. It's a little experiment to see if people will pay that much for a game. My suggestion would be to not buy it there, send a message back to Activision.
