Capcom is a BUSINESS they want only one thing and that is money. Why does it matter if DMC4 is for both 360 and PS3 its not like that one game will decide if sony wins the console war. Who cares if anyone says OMG sony lost another PS3 exclusive its the end of Sony. If one game is going to stop you from getting the system you never wanted the system in the first place. ( Lets discuss)

It's a fear on the part of PS3 owners. It's a gut reaction. It appears that Sony won the last two generations of gaming wars because it had a larger and more diverse library of exclusive games. The fact is, they had those exclusives because their hardware was superior to the competition. Therefore, the console sold and created a HUGE marketplace for developers to publish their games. The Xbox didn't do as well because it came later, and it was new. It didn't play DVD's right out of the box and there was nothing for it to be backward compatible with. So even porting a game to the xbox was risky for developers. Now it's different. Sony still has the best hardware but the 360 got a 1 year head start. So that means that there is now 10 million xbox's out there that need games. It's not like last-gen when Microsoft was the new guy, this time they've succeeded in establishing themselves. But PS3 is still the better system, and developers have faith in it. That is why you haven't heard anything about a game becoming a MS exclusive. So people are upset about DMC4 because they see it as Sony losing its competitive advantage. What is puzzling to me is why people see that as MS GAINING a competitive advantage.

I'm sorry but anyone who thinks that loosing exclusivity on DMC 4 isn't a big deal is lying to themselves. Sony should do everything in there power to try to make sure that there other big third party exclusives stay exclusive.

It may appear that way. But Konami is not stupid. They wouldn't ignore 10 million xbox gamers if they didn't have to. Unfortunately for them, Microsoft did not present them with a system that was capable of keeping up with their ideas. Sony did. That is what will win the console war.

They already did. They created a system with superior power and capacity. And they packaged it in a completely cross-functional package that appeals to consumers and is a great value. If you are suggesting that Sony start PAYING for exclusives you are out of your mind. Development costs are too high now that the technology is so advanced. There is no way that Sony, or even Microsoft could afford to do that for more than a handful of games and still keep their gaming division profitable. Think about it, if you were developing a game for the PS3 and you could port it to the 360 relatively easily. How much money would it take for you to ignore 10 million xbox gamers?

The less exclusives the PS3 gets the less amount of buyers for the PS3. If no one buys the PS3 the more exclusives MS gets because of a larger user base. Yes at the moment alot of them are multiplat, but who is to say it will stay that way when there is hardly any PS3 owners out there. Eventually it will lead to MS exclusives .....which means, the downfall of an empire.

Here's another question why is everyone so surprised? Didn't Capcom do this to nintendo with Resident Evil 4  when it came out it only for gamecube then a few months later you hear its coming out for the PS2.

If you don't really care about DMC 4 in the first place that's find that your parogative, but for Sony having a big exclusive title like DMC4 go multiplatform is definitely a big deal. Exclusives help sell systems, and knowing that Sony should try to come up with as many exclusives as they can.

It doesn't matter to me, and I'm a DMC fan. As long as they make it the best possible game they can, what do I care? DMC is not a big hit exclusive game, never was really. It's one of those cult classic kinda games that never become a super big seller. I can't wait to buy it for the PS3, and maybe they'll put in some special content in just because I own a PS3 and it can hold more data. : ) Now that would be a treat. It was Capcom who decided to make RE5 and RE4, and many other franchises multiplatform. Capcom itself is turning into the EA of Japan. As long as the game's good, awesome. It's not like the PS3 LOST the game, its still coming out on the system. Besides this is better incentive to bring over 360 Capcom franchises to us if they want to make an extra buck. Heck, it's going to work with Oblivion. DMC4 should have stayed exclusive, yes, but since it's not, that's not our problem anyway. This is as minute as a deal as Assassin's Creed, I'm pretty sure that Capcom may have intentionally done this to bring attention to DMC4. They even gave us a new gameplay trailer I believe, the day they announced this. Strange, no? Trust me, the PS3 is already on its feet, and will push its stride soon enough. Anyone who denies that Sony is doing really well already is truly blind. Heck, we're getting an updated Ninja Gaidan. Come on, grow up, these are video games, not weapons of mass destruction.

That is SO short-sighted. Don't worry though, you're not the only one. It is an undeniable fact that the PS3 is the more powerful system and has higher storage capacity. That means that games will have better graphics, better sound, bigger worlds, more innovative gameplay, and more features. Right now the damn this is only 4 months old. Give it some time man. Once developers start REALLY using the power of the PS3 two things will start to happen. 1) Multi-platform games will absolutely SHINE on the PS3 2) Games will become PS3 exclusives simply because the 360 hardware doesn't have enough horsepower. Once that starts to happen, you will see PS3 sales absolutely skyrocket. That is the difference between the 360 and the PS3. Right now even, alot of people are wondering, "What else can the 360 do?". With the PS3 the sky is the limit. This is EXACTLY what happened two generations ago. Games started being released in exponentially greater numbers for the PS1 compared to the N64. Why? It wasn't because Sony paid the developers for the exclusive, it's because the PS1 hardware offered more flexibility, more capacity, and lower production costs than the cartridge based N64.

I bought DMC3,and I still dont care about DMC4.

Why?The game is simply not as good as people make it out to be,it's a cool game(i.e the animation and weapons etc.)but the dialogue is horrible, the enemies can be finished with a press of a button, the boss fights arent even exciting, and the graphics are in no way near GOW.

If I were to score it,i'd give it a 7.2,it's just not a revolutionary game.

Look as a Sony fan and someone who's pulling for Sony to win again this generation it's been tuff on me so far. With exclusives going multiplatform and alot of the media being negative on the PS3. Having said all that I know that Sony has people trying to lock exclusives up. I know they have 1st and third party developers working on cool exclusive titles, and I know that there going to continue to improve there online service. Once all those things happen all the negative press will be a distant memory. Just like it was for the 360 after a year. We just all have be patient, and look out for all the cool things that Sony has in store for us. I think this years E3 is going to be huge for Sony.

Yea, man I'm waiting for E3 as well, only to see the KillZone... which may stop all the criticism about the PS3.

Oh I know, I'm sorry I should of been more detailed but I thought the short version would be appropriate. All I'm saying is IF we do keep losing exclusives in the future like FF, MGS, GT and what not....some people will not buy the PS3 and that will be bad IMO. I know a few people won't buy one until good games start coming out, though I believe they are thick headed. But on the other hand someone at work was just talking to me about selling his Box for a PS3 because of some of the cool features the PS3 has to offer.

One thing that just completely pisses me off, and just boggles the mind is those people who are calling the PS3 a system that's only been out for what 5 months or so a failure. Can we all just give the PS3 until November 17 of this year before we judge how truly successful, or unsuccessful they are. Just like most people gave the 360 about a year to mature and grow the PS3 deserves just as much time.

here's the thing. We have no idea how good the PS3 will do, it will all depend on the steps Sony will take in the future and if they do well, there might still be a chance for the PS3 to emerge later and sell equally as well as the competition. Remember, once prices lower, games pour in, PS3 will take a huge leap. They've got 2 Advantages right now. Blu-ray and PS home
