I am personally hoping the ps3 will have a better controller coming out soon. THe one they have now kinda sucks. I mean the trigger button feels like im pulling a spunge, and i don't like how the left anolge stick is paralle with the other one. Any word on a new and better controller coming out?

the controller design won't change much. The triggers might but the analog sticks have been there since the dualshock's creation. Way better than that other controller if you ask me.

I love the sixaxis controller and I dont think their should be a new one because I love the L2/R2 buttons they're like triggers and the best part is that they are light.

They dont feel like triggers because they are spungy and devs know it. Thats why R1 is usually the default for firing in ps3 games instead of r2. The right trigger is always used for fire in 360 games. But I think Sony wanted it spongy to feel like a gas pedal. As for the 2 sticks being equal thats just because the person is use to a 360 controller. I doubt they will make changes to anything. Just add rumble and call it a day.

As someone who owns a 360 and PS3, I agree that the PS3 controller is very uncomfortable. It is too small, so your hands hang off the end, and I do not have very big hands either. The left analog stretches out your thumb into a very uncomfortable position to where you are holding the controller with you fingers, and not your hands. Also the triggers are terrible. The controllers okay if your just casually playing, but its terrible for hardcore gaming and its many times the difference for whether or not I buy a game for PS3 or XBOX.

Yea the triggers don't seemed designed too well. Your finger can just slip off of it when held down and that doesn't work too well when you need to pretty much hold that down for like 6 mins in a motorstorm race. Rumble would also be a nice addition.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

But in this case, do it. Add rumble back.

Frankly I like a wider controller. I agree that the controller (most in general really) are a little small. However, I love the idea of the sixaxis more than a controller that simply shakes on cue.Rumblewas neat at first, but the sixaxis's higher/newer level of input it provides in a game is preferable to me. I hope sony keeps this idea and runs with it.

I doubt thatany generation ofSixaxiswill ever have rumble because (as they stated) it would interfere with motion/tilt controls, which is true. I mean seriously, if the game is controlled by angling and moving the controller in our dimension, do you really want it doing so on its own? Really?

The Wii remote has rumble and motion control, and it works fine. Also I believe Sony is working on a SIXAXIS with rumble as we speak, and it'll be out by the end of the year. At least according to ps3fanboy.com.

The reason why R1 is used (and was for ps2 games as well) is because you don't shoot a gun with your middle finger, you shoot a gun with your index finger (r1 position). But that's just my take.

I have to ask. Did you have a ps2 before your 360? Because I did and I find the 360 controller extremely uncomfortabled compared to the dualshock/sixaxis design.
