I'm sure most of us on here have seen the constant bashing from all political/legal angles concerning contents in video games, the australians dont even allow some games into thier country because of the content.I am not entirely sure why the rating system was in place if they can ignorantly say stuff about the contents of some games,i mean if we look at most movies, the contents are far more detailed compared to most video games i'v seen in my time. Whats really wrong with playing a sex scene in a video game cause i can sure mention 10 popular movies with sex scenes Whats really wrong with playing out scenarios that tackles the morals of people

Sex scenes dont need to happen, it is usuallytoo far removed from the point of a video game. But scenarios that takles the morals of people is great, but it has to be done right (like in Heavy Rain).

I know for playing a modern war game (Six Days in Fallujah or Medal of Honor) some people think it's mocking the dead that we can die yet get another chance because it's a video but their lost ones don't. They think we are being disrespectful in this way and by playing as the opposing force. I honestly think these games should be allowed to educate or inform people realisticly about these problems (not alà MoH). I was peeved when Six Days in Fallujah was dropped.

I would have loved to play Six Days in Fallujah. The thing is the soldiers went to the game devs and asked for the game to be made. I dont see nothing wrong with that, not to mention freedom of speech.

People are too sensitive in general. If a game came out that personally offends them, then don't get the game. Its really that simple. Don't ruin it for others that aren't offended and selfishly think you're doing the world a favor by forcing a company to axe it completely.

Yet you can take lil Timmy out to see Rambo as long as hes with daddy...For some reason, THATS ok, seeing realistic images of heads getting blown up, but fake blood in GTA is the devil? Hmmm....

Because video games are thought to be meant for children. We wouldn't want the children to witness such terrible things.

Because games have the whole interactivity thing, in a movie you are only watching someone kill a child, but in a game you are actually causing the child to be killed (by pressing the R1 button, ZOMG murder simulator!). Also, video games are a relatively new medium and they are not as popular as movies. This means ignorance about video games and what they are. Which means misconceptions and such.
