Why is it we can not play PS3 games via Remote Play?

It really doesn't seem like it would take a technical marvel to pull this off.

Is there an actual technical reason or is this just another shining example of how Sony refuses to provide for it's clients?

This is a beating the dead horse question..its being patched. the Vita JUST came out have some patience.

It could be the small matter of the lack of L2, L3, R2 and R3. They'll probably need to do a lot of patching to allow the Vita to control games that have more complicated control schemes.JustPlainLucas

Actually, you can play PS1 games with remote play and you have the option of assigning all of the extra L and R buttons to the rear touchpad.

The only issue with remote play I can see is lag with fast-paced games. I played the original Wipeout with remote play just for the hell of it and I could see the split-second of lag while in my house. Imagine the lag playing a few towns away.

The will have it eventually. I forsee it around Xmas since they want people to play Vita games right now and later they want to compete with the WII U
