Your browser closes everytime you do a search on "Killzone"? Yeah right...

Well i must say KZ2 is being hyped a little. But definantly not a lot. Now you can say there is too much hype but i work at Gamestop and we haven't got ads for it or anything. The problem with titles these days is there is just too much hype for them and it doesnt live up to it. A game gets a lot of advertising and it means the company is nervous. A game has one or two ads in the entirety of the store and they are in the clear. I think businesses have too many older people in them. No one to tell them "Hey your game is gonna suck, stop production."

Well, I dont know about you guys, but I´m waiting patiently for killzone 2, Killzone 1 was one of the first FPS that I played on the pS2.........and I really enjoyed it!!!! The story is great. besides some technicall isues, it was an awesome game...I played until I got full of it and sometimes I still even play itonline.......

If they correct the few things that most people complained about killzone 1, the game will sure get a 10. I would emphazise about enemy AI and the graphical quality......

Im sure about on thing, I´LL GET ASAP!!!!!!

RESPECT. PS3 ONLINE: NREAL PLAYING COD4 / UT3.

The game isn't really that hyped like you may think. Because people like you make these kind of topics, other people think kz2 is hyped alot. But that isn't really the case.

What has changed ?

Sonypurchased the company that made it now making it a first party game. They have a lot of their planted people in there to help it improve.Because it is first party developed , they have the tools and internal knowledge to get the most out of the hardware , and abigger budget and more dev time to boot will help tremendously.

It is a far more important game to Sony now than the first one was. They basically just gave the devs a chance by publishing it and hoped for the best. Whole different ball game right now ..... the entire industry is anticipating this one to see if Sony can come through on the promises and I am sure they realise this.

Expectations have risen as a result. Now if these changes didn't happen then it wouldn't be hyped nearly as much (even despite it looking awesome so far).

Well, While the first game wasn't spectacular it was solid, just didn't live up to the halo killer hype it was labeled with. The second one got attention first because of the name and the follow through hype of the first title. Combine that with the ridiculous graphics they showed at E3 2005, followed by all the controversy about the trailer and then another good showing at E3 07 and the rumored $21+ million (haha, forgot to put that key word in) budget Sony is spending, and you get a lot of talking.

On top of that, it has such message board buzz because both camps (sony and MS) point to it as either a killer app or a massive flop. So it generates a lot of talk and therefore hype.

The truth completely shuts down this entire thread..

Killzone 2 is hardly getting any hype...

It's hardly suprising considering a lot of games haven't got the deserved grade, and you just don't hear the end of it from the idiots who thrive on other people's failure on these boards..

Well I have not heard much today. But I talked to a few around here outside of "this BS called the net" and the rumor is you can find all the sites who are giving money by micro. And I guess it led to a look at some new sites? Or something? By just looking for who wrote on the KZ pics being touched up news and made it sound all nad or something??? Not sure really, something to that fact. I was not in the conversation so?

10 Million dollars went into Halo3's marketing. That's overhyping a game. Even NPR's reporters know the name Halo 3, although they know nothing about gaming.

Killzone2? I haven't seen a new trailer or a commericial or anything for a long time, Id on't know how it's even over hyped at all?

Because it's one sexy mother, the budget that Sony have given it must be one of the biggest in gaming history (can anyone confirm this?).
I stand by my statement that PS3 owners are mostly graphics and auido whores, in that they bum off good graphics and audio (myself included).

Killzone 2 will be the best FPS the PS3 has to offer. The game has ben in production for almost three years now and as u can see has Next-GenHD Graphics(better than GOW)with some really cool looking enemies(the Helgast).

Yea thats true but remember halo 3 is known also because it had 2 other games before it. Never mind the fact its a garbage game. I sold my 360 shortly after its release and got a PS3 because i felt it was such a disgrace. Now i must admit i am excited about killzone 2 but as for the customers i serve...not even a single word.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves Rappit. Remember these systems still have a good 4-5 years or more to go before they are outdated. I dont think we can fully expect the best FPS to come out of killzone if we havent seen other titles to come. Ill say it has been a huge undertaking and from what ive seen i like it, but there are never any garentees.

They might have to abandon the project since its too costly.

You're the same guy from yesterday who said that Uncharted was over rated. Apparently you have something against Playstation games....

That put a smile on my face. lol.

Truth told, there isn't a lot of hype about the game. There is when new info hits but it quickly dies down. I'm personally excited to see what it's like...and I don't really like shooters (though there's not much else to play yet). Graphically, it's stunning, especially when you consider no one thought they'd come close to the pre-rendered animations shown when the game was first announced. The fact they managed to come so close- and in some ways surpass it - is a good sign they're doing all they can to not disappoint potential users. We'll see, I guess, but you can hardly say it's overhyped.

IMO pokemon diamond. But rly...1 million copies? Halo 3 sold somewhere around 400k in a day. How is MGS gonna beat that? Over half the PS3 owners in the world, quite literally, would have to buy it.
