so i just got monster hunter freedom 2 for psp, and it is impossible for me to kill any of the "bigger" monsters. i can kill stuff like the giadrome and giaprey and that level, but whenever i enter any lvl 1 quest where i have to fight a tigrex or there is a tigrex in it, i end up getting killed by it in 2 blows and land only maybe 1 or 2 hits on it. i use your first great sword mostly and the snowy armor you get from the beggining. I have no idea how ppl are killing all these huge "boss" monsters with the giant wpns and armor(that i cannot seem to find). so i was wondering if anyone could help or relate to this

You DON'T have to kill a Tigrex!!! -.- just FLEE!

The level 1 mission is a Gathering Mission, access the menu and look under quest details as for what you have to gather.

Killing a Tigrex is a level 6 mission so you won't have to worry about him for a while...

Using a Great Sword at the beginning of a game is NOT recommended.

No seriously, using dual wielders, short swords or long swords (I reccommend a long sword) will make it so much easier for you.

You really need time to ''master'' or get the hang of a great sword, although it only has 3 moves...it is the weapon for which decent timing is required. And in order to learn how to time your attacks and properly defend, you need to exactly know what the monster is going to do and how it behaves and reacts. This is not your area yet and I had a real hard time starting with a Great Sword and died many times because I was using a weapon that required much practice first.

LOL, you cannot kill a Tigrex cause you're not supposed to! You're supposed to run away from it. If you read the quest, it says there is a chance that a tigre/wyvern will be there, you're not to fight it.

Like someone already said, you need to kill a tigrex in the 6 level quests with good equips.

Just go check your farm after EVERY quest at the start for the basic new-player stuff... After a while, you'll need to go and get specific stuff.

checks this place out http://www.gamespot.com/pages/unions/home.php?union_id=Hunter

Just hang in there, the game takes a while to get used too. I've played only for 150 hours and still don't consider myself anywhere near experienced. There's players who've played for 500+ and still find it challenging.
