Why is Netflix different on my blu-ray player than on the PS3?

Netflix on the PS3 is awesome. The catagories are in columns and rows. All you have to do is scroll down to the catagory, and across to what movie or tv show you want. When you select something, a window comes up on the far right side with the description, and another window comes up in the center of the screen for things like resume, play from beginning, show more episodes, etc. Also, scrolling and navigating is very fast on the PS3. Plus, there is a search feature.

When I run the internet cable to the blu-ray player in the family room, Netflix is complete garbage. All Netflix is on the blu-ray player is big tabs going across the top of the screen with the catagories. Whenyou get to the tab you want, you have to push down on your remote and wait for everything to load, which is forever. When you select a movie, you have to wait for a seperate screen to load with the description and options. Also, there is absolutely no search option. You can only choose from the 75 selections that happen to be there in each catagory. Navigating is incredibly slow. I've updated the software for the blu-ray player, but it didn't change Netflix.

So, why isn't the layout universal for everything? Is there anyway to change it to make it like the PS3?

Lucky you your standalone Blu-ray player has 75 movies/shows from each category. On my BD player, when I open Netflix, I only have whatever is on my queue, that's it!!

You're not gonna find the PS3's interface on current BD players, maybe one day.
