I just noticed that the ps3 is selling better now than over the holidays. I mean you had ratchet, uncharted, folklore, warhawk, ninja gaiden sigma, and heavenly sword come out and other than uncharted none of those games lived up to expectations in terms of sales. Here we are at the beginning of the new year with no exclusives on ps3 in 08 yet it is selling better now than before. I am not bashing anything, but just wanted to know what is up.

:( how did ratchet not live up to expectations...the only place that reviewed it below AA was gamespot -_-.....and um...idk probably tax returns like the other guy said or just viral marketing. Kid gets brand new ps3 over the holidays and starts telling all his friends about it.

You could also atribute sales to the format wars being over with now. And blue-ray being the winner. And with blue ray players still being very costly. Some probably thing a videogame system/blue ray player for $500 is worth it.

The reasons could be because many that got gift cards for Christmas have been using them with the extra cash they needed to make the the purchase. Then the Blu-Ray wining the format war is another reason. And finally people getting there tax returns back and using the money to buy there consoles with.

Three reasons: Blueray, Tax returns, and gift cards/spending money from the holidays.
