japan is going to get the dual shock 3 this november, mean while everywhere else is going to get it spring of next year. whats the reasoning behind this? and for those of us who can't wait that long for one, will there be any 3rd party companies that will try to cash in on this by making their own?
Well this is a guess but I am thinking they are adding touch sense to it... Some game sites that tried the ps3 already felt the rumble controller rumble in the direction that gun shots were coming from in mgs4... Also where you crash in burnout...

What if it turns out you need an update for the PS3 to send out the rumble signals to the controller. I'll wait to hear others expeirences about it before I do it.
I thought the answer couldn't be more obvious. They needa clear the stock of SIXAXIS, they needa start manufacturing DualShock 3 in number of millions to fully satisfy customers all over the world. Both of these two tasks need time to achieve.

They might be implementing the DS3 with a game bundle as some1 previously mentioned, IMO they are going to release a new ps3 for the release of MGS4, that comes with MGS4, myabe 80gig?, and new rumble controllers.
Thye did this with MGS2 with the ps2 except they already had rumble.
They are releasing it early in japan because prolouge comes out around the same time in japan.... And like posted above by the time holidays past there will be a huge demand forthe ds3 and they have to make sure supply is high enough

makes compleat since, just look at what they did with the 20 and 60gig PS3. Altho I think sony knew they where coming out with the DS3 all for some time. Problem is I know a new controller is coming out why would I go out and buy a $50 noun rumble 1? Their stock would go faster if they just drop the sixaxis to $40.
