why the hell is that when i turn my ps3 on im about to sign but yet it says theres a problem and it signs me out....WTF?! and then i click to sign in again and i get in? Does anyone else have this problem? then i get disconnected multiple times....and its a brand new router cause of my old one sucking with my ps3 but working fine with 360 and wii. Well its the same thing over again...works fine for 360 and wii but horrible for ps3. I just changed my wep key because i was tinkering with settings and every time i put it in and put all my settings now to test the connection it tells me my internet connection works and such but when its checking for playstation network it says failed. WTF?Now i cant even connect at all damnit. i know its not my router. It must be the PS network. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone can help me?! btw im using a linksys dual antenna wireless modem...dont know the model number though...

Sony are having massive issues with UPnP, they had it working fine, they broke it, they are trying to repair it, they say it is repaired, but it breaks on other routers.

To the guy above... fanboy much?

you know what they say.... you get what you pay for... but honestly, i hope it gets better... everytime i get on my PSN it kicks me off of everything else in my room that's connected to the internet. XBL doesn't do that, it's very dissapointing :(... but i still like the PS3 more :)

yeah its the same thing with me. let me guess, you have a linksys router? there is a known problem existing that is not sony's fault at all.

The only time I have a problem is when my server is having technical problems. Most of the problems people are having with PSN is user error, not the PS3.

UPnP issues caused by Sony firmware updates have nothing to do with peoples connections.  I'm on 24 mbit, is my connection garbage?  Recently a Sony update screwed UPnP port forwarding for many users, it has nothing to do with peoples routers.

That's my guess. I have the D-link DIR-655, have never had any problems. Also, maybe try not having dozens of devices connected to the internet whilst attempting to play games online, that might help too.

Wow what a lame quote to say "You get what you pay for." Yeah that's what the lemms say to us to call PSN utter crap how about "Some of the best things in life are free." Never thought about that quote did you? And seeing as PSN isn't even a year old yet you guys should chill out XBL has been out for what 6 years now and it wasn't always as good as it is today.

Why are people always like this, when it comes to internet. It did the same to me, you have to change a few setting and it will get to the way its supposed to be, its not the ps3 or PSN, its your router settings. seriosly, dont blame the console or the network. Anything can be fixed. I had to enable the UPnP on my router. Its really easy tochange thesettings. You have to take it easy, learn about how you can fix this by doing research online and trying out things.

I have a Linksys router, most likely the same as he is using (WRT54G). I do not have any of these issues that others are having. Maybe learning a little bit about networking and how to properly set up a router would help eh?

Have you forwarded the necessary ports? This might help, it says port 3658 UDP should be forwarded for PSN. You could also just put your PS3 in DMZ.

I just changed my wep keyblazinpuertoroc

That may be your prob....you're using WEP...that type of wireless connection is ancient history...go with WPA, it's a lot easier to deal with and the PS3 is more tolerant of WPA.

I know this because when I got my DS, I had to change my router's wireless settingto WEP for the online to work on my DS, but then my PS3 didn't like it at ALL...wouldn't connect whatsoever, so I changed it back to WPA and everything was great, the Wii and as far as I know the 360 should be cool with WPA.

PS....Linksys is by far the best brand of router I've ever had, ****** sucks.

i dont have a problem- and i love the psn, i dont see my is sucks more than live- it may be a little more complicated but getting into a game is the same as the 360- you can find videios and dmeos and stuff under the appropriate titles like live. what gives? why is it so bad? i dont htink so.

Geez, people are so fast to blame sony while they are at fault, Go to the playstation website, read the FAQ and open up the ports they recomend and problem solved.
Or you could afcourse just read the manual on wich ports to open but no one ever reads the manual.
