im looking forward to playing this game and i think that it coming out on the ps3 first is a good thing but why is this? its usually the other way around, is there something special being planned for the 360 version?
It would make much more sense to release it on PS3 during the holidays rather than go face to face with Halo 3. PS3 owners are hungry for a good FPS and Unreal is as good as they get. It's all about sales. I'm sure Sony gave Epic some money for the timed exclusive too.

It's gonna look 10x better. Especially on PS3/PC. Epic Games said so themselves. I think that the PS3 version gets KB/M support and cross-platform online play with PC and more maps on the disc. So the PS3 version will be better than the 360 version.
well ifs a ps3 exclusive then it will be a better game. im not sure if they ran out of disc space or the devs were lazy but gears of war was a little too short. at leased they will have loads more room with the ps3
Well a year ago when the gam efirst announced it was for the pc and ps3 first... no plans were in develop for an xbox 360 version so the development on the ps3 and pc were ahead for some time. Than came the announcement that the xbox 360 will be getting the game so you cant expect it to finish around teh same time as the ps3 and pc which started development months before it. Than again the xbox360 version won't even happen at all if what they say is true about sony buying it.
It's a big F-U to Microsoft after not supposting MODS, and making people pay to play online. Thos two things are what EPIC lives for, and since Sony has okayed those things, EPIC is giving them UT III first:)

Unreal Tournament 3 is built off the same engine as gears and frankly they both look the same well unreal tournament 3 looks better in my IMOP

yup! i say the mods was the biggest factor! you see Epic like to give hand outs to they're fans adn MS likes to make money. in a nut shell Epic did not want to have to fight M$ all over again like they had to do with Gears!

its kinda funny to watch some of the developer videos, just watch how they try and avoid talking about the 360 version, its alway, "undetermined" or something along those lines, the ps3 version will be way better

Really? When did they annouce a release date? All I've ever heard was 2008 - if I was a 360 owner, I'd be slightly disheartended by the fact there hasn't been any 360 gameplay shown. So, there might or might not be a version up and running on the 360 - It'll come out, but I think we'll end up seeing it towards the middle-end of 2008.

Sony paid them off just like they paid off the people who are making HAZE. HAZE is now PS3 ONLY.

He makes a really good point and i bet they were already developing the game for the PS3 before starting on the 360. With the succes of Gears i think they probably couldn't pass up not releasing it on the 360 (for the money). You have to understand that they announced this game like a year earlier for the PS3 so while they may have had the 360 in the back of their mind they probably brought it to the front of their mind closerto the Gears of War launch.
