Ok, I had Killzone 1.. and while it was fun, I dont know why in the world they chose that game to make a sequel for, and basically try and bargain the PS3s graphics capabilities this E3 on it. Just doesn't make sense to me. Personally I am going to pick up a 360 next week for Ratchet/LittleBigPlanet... not a game that looks pretty, but if it plays anything like its sucessor a pretty average fps.

As for why they made a sequel to it... I have no idea, but it looks like they did a great job to me. The gameplay looks pretty intense and fun. Taking cover looks awesome and it seems like it will make you actually feel like your in a total warzone. On second thought they probably made a sequel of it because it has a very cool setting and an interesting story.

You're picking up a 360 for Rachet and Little Bigplanet? I was under the impression that they were exclusive to PS3...

lol?

weird typo. see the difference is when killzone was made the ps2 couldn't handle it.
Now that the ps3 has so much POWA, and with the awesome POWA of Bluray the ps3 is able to deliver a complete package.
it really could go either way thought, i'll give you that, the developers might not learn anything and give us the same linear piece of crude as before.
But really you don't know ANY game is going to be good until it is out and the public can play it for themselves.

The reason they are making a sequel is because like you said killzone was fun (by no means the best game but fun none the less) and despite what a lot of people say here, it sold well (2 million copies). They also really had to put their buts on the line as far as graphics because its a second gen 1st party title and and the in house development teams are expected to set the bar. I mean sony should know the hardware better than anyone and if they don't go a cut above then it looks really bad for them.

LOL. That first post really confused me. I think it confused you too Masseffector lol.
I agree that it could go eitehr way, theres no doubt that the visuals will be rediculously good, but gameplay-wise im still not sure. Killzone 1 was pretty bad in the gameplay department I feel.

hes a "part time troll" so thats probably why he made that "typo". i think he put 360 on purpose to get some people to say some stuff cuz that makes him feel better.

See, i disagree. I was in total shock when i picked up Killzone day 1. The gameplay seemed revolutionary. There were some bugs, sure. but that is what you get when you port what would be an awesome PC shooter to PS2 in a hurry. Killzone 2 looks to be everything that Killzone was and more. It is a much more experienced dev team this time around, with a much larger budget, and so far, the results are nothing less than spectacular.

Instead of looking at what Killzone actually was, at this point in time you need to look at what it COULD have been. It had a lot of potential, which was essentially bogged down by the glitches and bugs.

Because they knew how much potential the first game hadbut never got to realize.

It'd be cool if, when they released Killzone 2, they packaged it with an optimized version of the first game. If you played it while it was polished, you'd understand the value it has as a game--And especially as a story.
