Why make an online game, if they can't do it right?

I have yet to play an online game on the PS3 that actually works the way it is suppossed to consistantly, It's madning!

It's funny how people with low account levels seem to have the biggest problems with the ps3....do you really own a ps3??? Did you make up an account just to troll..?? I'm not saying that PSN is perfect, it still does need alot of work but it's not as bad as fake posters make it out to be. lol

I've never had an issue either.

But I've also never played Xbox Live. What makes it so much better? Do hands actually come out of the TV and massage youwhile you're playing? For the subscription fees they better.

Keep in mind that the PSN is free. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Some people don't mind the issues if they don't have to pay anything while others will spend the $50 a year to have problem free, unified online. Choice is good!ch2423

And now you...my xbox brethren is that because it's "FREE'' line the only thing people with 360's can use to attack the PSN??? It's getting really old!!! XBL wasn't perfect from the beginning, it had to go through the same growing process as the PSN...so lay off the chatter.lol

I think my rank is high enuf. and I do have problem w/ PS3 as well. Where is my RPG?? Now I have to go buy Mass Effect to fulfill my need.. sigh.

And maybe getting a better connection would help in ur case, OP. I had been gaming since quake and PC pretty much never had much problem w/ internet unless u deleberatly connect to slow server. So, be my guest and pay 50 bucks for something I do on internet for free, or find a server suitable for ur low ping whining.

I wasn't attacking the PSN, just giving a reason why certain things are lacking with it. The whole "XBL wasn't perfect from the beginning, it had to go through the same growing process as the PSN" line is crap too. Sony had a whole year to sit back and see what Live was doing. They knew what they were up against so you'd figure they'd try to match it by the time the PS3 launched. They didn't and it hurt them. That's why Home came about. Sony underestimated how much people wanted a good online community, so Home was initiated. It's also why we get our PSN updates a few at a time every month or so through firmware revisions. They were not prepared at launch like they should've been.

I have both systems so I'm not trying to knock the PS3 in any way. Just giving my opinion on what Sony should do to match or surpass Live.

I apologize for misunderstanding your statement and I do agree that Sony did underestimate the work it would take to build a great online service. They have alot of work to do, so I can understand some peoples frustration with the PSN. I also own and love both systems, I just hate to see people(THE THREAD MAKER) attacking either system with bogus information.:)

I agree 100%. The PSN has gotten much better since launch. Not just gameplay wise but also content available for download (demos and videos). I remember after launch it was a ghost town but now 3rd party demos and videos hit at about the same time for each system and the 1st party demos have been great (Uncharted looks amazing!). Home should be the last piece of the puzzle.

You're entitled to your opinion but I beg to differ. The topic is about online and you ask for an RPG? FFXIII is coming, remember? That has the potential to humiliate all other RPG's. Then there's White Knight Story. Just wait and the best (j)rpg's will be on the PS3. Oh and there's also Oblivion. Aside from that the 360 doesn't really have a lot of rpg's as well now does it? And Mass Effect seems more likea shooter than an rpg to me (although it looks like a cool game).

I kinda agree, Strong Online is a must have for Nex Gen,,,I have had some problems with games online, mostly the lobby systems, buddy systems, mics, and pratically everything that dealt with setting up a mic and playing online where I want to.

Socom 1 pratically is the Godfather of online console gaming, it came out close to when the internet adapter for the ps2 came out and the online was fairly good. Easy lobby systems, mics always worked, great buddy lists, and back then you imagined what kind of online platform next gen would have and this is what we get so far.

correct me if im wrong but isnt the server problem a problem for the game dev?

warhawks online system now works GREAT!!! so it obviously can be done. i beleive it is the people who are making the games that are not making the online lobbys very functional. this is not a fault of sonys.

Call of Duty 4 and Rainbow Six Vegas both play horribly online for me. Especially CoD4, it rarely even finds a host. I really hope they address these problems. But yea I guess Resistance runs pretty good, i was actually very impressed with Resistance online.

To be honest, I'm really tired of hearing the similar statement time and time again. Online feature in lots of genres other than shooter is just a complement but not a must.

1st of all ur Rank isnt a proof for nothing.....2nd of all mass effect may look good (dunno yet) but there is not even a tiny posibility that u can compare it with FinalFantasy.
