Older games used to have the install feature which was asesome because games were loading faster and the Ray was used less giving it more durability. But I haven't bought a single game in the past 6 months that asked me to install it.Why?Is there a problem with my console or is it the same with everybody else?I'll give you some examples of games that didn't install:KIllzone 2,Far Cry 2,Fallout 3,and Resistance 2.

Because most people hate it for some strange reason and the developers think they are actually doing something good that way. I like installs. I don't care that I have to wait for 10 minutes once or that they use space on my harddrive. It's not like I'm playing 20 games at once so I can just delete the ones I don't play when I need space. Not being able to install is especially annoying with Killzone 2. I hate the pauses at every checkpoint even if it's just a second. It's just not smooth that way. I'd rather wait a couple of minutes before playing for the first time even if the installation takes longer than all the one second interruptions counted together. I prefer being annoyed one big time (while I can do something else) instead of countless small annoyances.

I don't know about Far Cry 2, but Fallout 3 and Resistance 2 both have installs. Fallout 3 just does it while you're playing.

thoose small 1 second freezes are not annoyances, fine thats your opinion, but it makes no sense. i dont play 20 games at once but i do play around 7-8 games. and to delete my installs would be a pain, for example i for one am not re installing bioshock, re5 and devil may cry 4 when ever i want to play it. and if you find waiting 1 second not smoot i think there's a problem honestly. you can say it ruins the transistion or w/e but tbh it dose not.

I think the installs do help, especially thein games that require a lot of loading (Oblivion). Deleting the instal;ls may be tedius, but atleast it is simple.

The installs are...questionable. At first I use to think they were great and all but the 360 seemed to blow it out of the water by installing to your hard drive to reduce loadtimes and stop the disc from spinning. It's optional too btw... I think they are pulling back from it now because it isn't as effective to do so, who knows =/

Lately games have also been having optional installs. Don't understand why optional, installations always speed up game play.

Fallout 3 installs 5gigs while you play, Far Cry 2 has a mandatory 3 gig install when you start it up, and Resistance 2 has a 379mb install when you start it up.
