why on cod4 it wont let me join friends games?

very annoying, i love this game but the online MP for a game that was worked on since day 1 is falling short in a lot of areas that a lot of people seem to care about.

You only see the invites when you pause the game or when you finish a game. The room is probably full by the time you attempted to join.
