Well, sometimes that is a good thing. lol
Sadly, too many times I like it better that way... I grow tired really fast of: Go f--k yourself, NOOBZ, I got you A--holes, I PNWD YOU!
That's on top of all the screaming
Sad :(

good, that means we don't have to listen to snivelling little kids who think that everyone wants to hear how cool their dad is
Â
.....>_> thats just oddÂ
Not many people use headsets for PC multiplayer but that is still fun. EliteScout
that is because the majority of the games do not support it. You got to type. Like i said before headsets can be turned on and off so if you do not want to hear you can turn it off. it's a good option to have especially if you are playing with friends.

I agree, nothing is more annoying than some shrill noise coming from your speakers because someone feels the need to act out their death on screen in real life (example...Southpark episode about WoW).
Or, some goof-ball screaming orders and such.
I play online with my PC and hardly use my headset unless it is with people I know and on a closed channel.

Oh I totally agree with you! I want to see it implemented in every game. I personally will use it very much, but not on public chat area, more like with friends and clan

i dont know if its just bad luck or what, but i seem to only ever meet like 30 year old losers sitting in their moms basement, and little kids swearing and cussing like sailors.Â
Online with voice chat would be much better if there were some decency rules.

That's how you play online? :?
Well, I don't own an PS3 but I play online allot of Xbox 360. Should be around the same. And it's not like that. It's real teamplay. I can't imagaine playing without a headset or when someone on you're team doesn't have a headset. It sucks.
I do have an headset, I use it to speak with friends when playing resistance mostly. The only time I used an headset on the XBOX was for PDZ, and it was actually just like I described. If it's not the same with the other game, thanks god!
LOL what wonderful stories, anyway i meant that not enough people have them and therefore my online friends and clan people cant talk....:'(
Aaron-1992
then your clan people should pick em up. lol
and if FW 2.0 is real, then in-game voice chats should be possible...meaning even games like cod3 without headset support will still allow you to talk to people in a chat room via the xmb.Â

that would solve it anyway.. Just open up a chat room with your buddys and mute everybody else.. problem solved!Â
Include it in the box then more people will use it and more developers will implement it.Deihmos
I think the question is do we really want everyone using them?
I'd be happy with my group of 5 people to talk to and use teamwork and not be annoyed by whiny lil kids. lol
But then again, I'm also not bothered one bit by the fact that Call of Duty 3 doesn't have mic support. Might just be me.Â

There is a mute and volume button.

That doesn't really help me too much when 2 kids are yelling their brains out about random crap when I actually wanna talk to 3 other guys.
Mute button mutes them all, and volume would have to be so low I couldn't hear the 3 I wanted to.
Â
EDIT::Keep in mind that this is all my opinion. I'd rather not get into a debate about this since I have to say it's pretty pointless. lolÂ
Meh, whenever I play online games with headsets (on L!VE or on PC) all that I ever seem to hear are people taking the piss out of eachother. And the second a British person is against an American, all hell brakes out.
I mean, what's with the Americans going on about 'Dude, I don't understand you language', wtf is that all about??? Americans speak English, and write a dumbed-down version of English, I can't understand how you couldn't possibly understand us? Is it because we pronounce our words differently, or - dare I say it... properly.
And the rest is just playing against British and American stereotypes.
Meh, no headsets for my PS3, or I might, but I'm only ever gonna use it for chatting with friends.

Create games that only friends can join. Private games.

Actually, no. At least not in RFOM. You can mute everyone individually. So just keep those you want.Â

not having headsets is a problem. If youve played on xbox live, you would see how much better it is. Sorry to say....
and no "sometimes thats a good thing" is not a valid justification. Yeah some people with mics are annoying, but for the most part, everyone having one DOES help with the game play. It definitely makes it more fun if you are in a good room. I, like most people, would rather deal with a few jerks everyonce in a while than not have the option AT ALL of being on a team where everyone has a mic. Its easy to avoid annoying people. Either mute them, or just leave and join another session.Â

That's why your friends will be on one team and the other people on the other. You cannot hear their mics. I am sure you can create games with private slots for your friends so others can still join.

Well, I play online because a good deal of replay value comes out of it, now that developers of all genres minus RPGs and A/A have completely neglected the offline experience.
As for the headsets, a majority of people who I try to play with regularly have headsets, and since games like Resistance, Motorstorm, and Calling All Cars don't require much strategy, I don't mind the silence every once and a while.
