Normally for every 2k game there is an EA sports games to compete. I personally and a fan of electronic arts and feel that normally they create a more user friendly game with better game play, but so far there has not been a hockey game, basketball game, or baseball game created by electronic arts on the PS3. Is there a reason why? I have looked through most of the release dates for games and i still havent seen any sign of ea making sport games. They did come out with Madden on PS3. So is there a reason or have they just not created one? Thanks for everyones input.

the only other MLB option is The Show.

the next season, 08 season, which starts in july (NCAA Football 2008) will have NHL 2008 and Live 2008.

maybe MVP college baseball 08?

its hard to tell at this point.

2k has put more effort into their games than EA. EA thinks it can sell games just by sticking their name on it. It worked for a few years but now people realize the EA reputation isnt what it once was and 2k is filling in.

Yeah i think EA did feel they could just stick there name on the box and it would sell, but its good to know that in july there will be some games. 2k isnt horrible but like the new baseball game almost every hit is a homerun its rare that i hit the ball to get on base.

I will agree with mike the PS3 and Wii is an awesome combo.

THis is definitely opinion but as Blitzinger above me posted, 2K has the tendency to be a breath of fresh air when it comes to sports games. Now, it isn't the best title in every sport (I'm looking at you MLB 2K7) but the quality of gameplay is usually very high and in some cases much better than other brands (NBA 2K7). For the passed few years new EA sports titles have felt more like roster updates than actual new games. Sure, they add a small feature here and there or tweak some gameplay, but unless you are one of competitive professional tournament players these usually don't matter much to you. Hopefully once 2K has the ability to make NFL games again, which will be in 08, we'll see Madden trying something new since there will be competition again.

MLB The Show 07 is the best baseball game I've ever played and I definitely recommend you giving it a shot. The pitching and batting mechanics are downright amazing.

EA tends to have a time frame for each of thir games, for example madden at the end of the year, so itll be a while.
