why so much COD4 hate?

I like it.

i dont like cod period i think its way to overrated

I don't like it because i don't like fps genre, just like you don't like "insert game title" because you don't like "insert genre".

It's because it was really popular.. So a lot of hate..

It wasn't anything that new from any other FPS, yet it is called best FPS.. So a lot of hate..

Generic FPS story campaign.. So a lot of hate..

Only one map pack.. So a lot of hate..

Bad experiences with annoyances in lobbies and games (team killing, loud annoying people, stupid kills/deaths, nade fest, jugger ect.. ) thus a lot of hate..

No mute option in lobby.. thus a lot of hate..

Merging servers which caused massive lag.. thus hate..

shall i go on? i think not..

all in all i loved the game.. story, multiplayer and MILE HIGH CLUB on VET.. probably one of the best experiences i have had on the PS3..

I enjoyed Modern Warefare for a few months, the constant screaming and stuff really turned me off. I don't know what it is about that game but it seems to be a pre teen thing. I'll be passing on MW2 for a number of reasons, already announced 3 map packs (for a game selling millions you'd think it would ship with a dozen maps), Kotic is a Duesch, and so on.

I used to enjoy it but now it's terrible. Every match is awful, full of M16 spam, Frag x3 and Martyrdom. Not to mention the terrible lag even on a great connection along with the hit detection problems make COD4 an extremely frustrating game to play. Same thing with WaW as well, the entire series gets far too much credit and caters too much to crappy players when it comes to multiplayer. Which is the only thing keeping it alive now.

Honestly, I'm done the COD series. It was half fun while it lasted and half utter bull****, I'm sticking to my Battlefield. I sincerely hope MW2 fails and everyone realizes how much they over hyped it. There's only one game I've ever played that met it's hype from the fans and from me then surpassed all expectations and that was Metal Gear Solid 4. You don't find a MGS4 everyday.

On 360 I got to the top 6000 for kills last year, haven't had it on ps3 actually.

I find it funny because alot of the people who hate probably played it for a very long period of time. Me perosnally have not played a COD game as i never had Xbox Live and didnt see the point of buying it. Now with my PS3 and PSN i am egarly anticipating COD: MW2.

The Dragunov is awsome. I haven't played in awhile but I think I might start again since CoD: MW2 is coming out soon.

Thats only normal to find the most popular things to also be the most hated things. Although I do get annoyed at how alot of cod 4 players only play that game and nothing else.

Actually its quite the opposite. Most people I've seen on the forums like the game.

It's okay. I don't llike console MP FPS in general since most of them have aim assist which is gross. The single player was a blast to play through the first time, though.

I wouldn't be hating on MW2 if they gave us a decent length SP this time around. I remember when Max Payne was released, reviewers were complaining about its 8 hour game length. Jeez, 8 hours is the standard now. MW2 having 5 hours and charging £50 is a joke.

I like the game, just hate the community and the fact that they are trying to release one every year even though they are from different devs.

It's a good shooter, and it was amazing when it came out, but after a while I just lost interest in it, with all the randomness, it has a lot of problems that should be addressed for the next game, but it is a good game. Once Killzone 2 came out though, the clan support and the feel of killzone made me play that more.

I really enjoyed the single player, it saddens me when Infinity Wards interview director mention that majority of the people that bought COD4 haven't even played the SP portion of it and instead jumped straight into multiplayer.

Each to its own I guess, I loved the single player but it lasted for weekend rent, judging from the Modern Warfare 2 latest media information, single player will be as short as the predecessor, if not little short.

Regardless, I'll definitely play it, I have other FPS games to keep me occupied with multiplayer however. I prefer team based/support much more.

Thank you, I' am so sick of people picking on popular games and saying that they suck all over the frickin boards. CoD4 is a great game it' s easy enough for a noob to get a kill and improve but, still hardcore enough for the veterans to win and excel.
