[QUOTE="truesKill87"][QUOTE="-Hassan-"][QUOTE="MGS9150"]Killzone 1 was a great game, with a little bit more polish it could have been AMAZING. It is underrated.bezaire2005

Honestly, your wrong. Killzone was a good idea but it was a terrible game. We shouldnt blame the ps2 lack of power for this game, it was just a bad bad game. And it DID NOT sell well.

why lie?

6.9/10 does not sound like a lie to me.

there is a lot of romantisizm surrounding the 1st Killzone around these here parts. Even if the new KZ looks as good as they say, if it plays like the 1st game it will be no more than a tech demo.

I love the first killzone. The ability to choose from 4 different interesting characters, who each had certain skills and personality, the great environments you travel through, the engaging story--which the character's chemistry made even better, and nice selection of weapons--rico's gun was sweet. It was a great game. The online multiplayer was my favorite FPS online multiplayer on PS2. I agree that, had they worked on it a little bit longer it would have been even better. It was hard to forgive the ridiculous ragdoll death glitches and the weird texture screw-ups at times so I'm excited to see what they come up with, having a huge budget and team, and a lot of time at their disposal. I'm kind of losing faith in guerilla games a little bit though since they still haven't gotten the Killzone Liberation multiplayer up and running.

[QUOTE="blitzinger123"]The first killzone wasnt that amazing. I agree with those (I think all ps fans lol) that say the KZ2 trailer is a big deal. That was very nice, rendered or not. But I dont think all this hype should be built on 1 video. The original killzone controls were sluggish and it took forever to kill someone in multiplayer. Hopefully KZ2 will speed things upModbetto
What are you talkin about??? The controls were identical to resistance......Killzone was a GREAT game...it only had one problem...the graphics didn't give it what it deserved....

The controls were crap in the first Killzone. Aiming was a nightmare.

I just remember the terrible texture problems Killzone had from the technical limitations of the PS2. You'd walk up to a comrade with no face, and then 3 or 4 seconds later the texture would suddenly *pop* in there and that made it hard for me to stay in the game.

Obviously, Killzone wasn't revolutionary or great graphics wise, but I think it was underrated too.  The game was solid, had good balance (imo), good levels, I liked the online a lot even though PS2's online sucked, and it wasn't much worse than Halo.  It deserved better than a 6.9, I think that was crap.

The hype is mostly because the E3 Killzone 2 trailer was the best graphics ever shown, which caused everyone to think it was prerendered, which it was.  Plus the production values both manpower and financially, and the fact that Sony originally designed this to compete directly with Halo.

The Red Faction games were both better than Killzone 1 and were released earlier in the life cycle before the programmers learned all of the tricks of the PS2. The PS2 didn't have many good shooters and KZ was STILL mediocre in spite of that. Compared to other PS2 games, it comes up lacking. Compared to other FPS of that generation (such as Halo, Medal of Honor, even Project Snowblind (which was awesome) and Pariah), it was lacking in very major ways.

KZ's 6.9 was well-deserved and a little higher than it deserved. A 6.5, maybe.

People are hyping the hell out of this game cause they hope to gawd it shows up Halo. Chances are it wont, since the last one was just barely a decent game. Since when were Playstation fans such hardcore FPS gamers? I remember PS2 fans dawged the Xbox saying it only has FPS games which is a genre they didnt care much for. Now, the some of the biggest hyped games are/were R:FoM and Killzone..both FPS games.

I don't think KZ2 will look like the trailer at all. The trailer is like DX10 material, and the PS3 doesn't do DX10. The PS3 is good, but it ain't that good.AliasUK

Lol, PS3 has OGL, not DX, so they can do pretty much anything they want... and animations, poly count and overall geometry has nothing to to with gfx specific instructions, but with its raw power and game optimisation. Killzone E32005 level of graphics are possible on PS3, devs are saying it and we will see it in the next 2 years.

With the 120 Dev team, over 100 million dollars to make the amount of time they've had and how quiet they've kept this title, I think it will be amazing :DG-Legend
$100 million?? LOL no my friend it's been estimated at 22 million LOL! where the hell did you come up with $100 million?? Wow, watch this spread like wild fire through the net  but the 120 dev. is right.

Well, the original Killzone was one of my favorite PS2 games.

Killzone: Liberation is my favorite PSP game.

With the massive increase in team size and funding, I can't see why this new one wouldn't be even more fun.

There was but ONE thing wrong with Killzone: MILDLY grainy graphics. Still, they were better than Blacks, which got a much higher rating. And, unlike Black, it had good gameplay and animations, not to mention a decent story line. The only reason I compare Killzone to such a horrible game such as Black is because the latter got a much higher rating. Killzone was an awesome FPS in it's own right. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't Halo(yes, I like Halo), but it was up there. WAY up there. It was, without a doubt, one of the best FPS games on the PS2.
