sagaguchi (right name? sp?) doesn't even work for square enix anymore, they fired him even though he saved their company with the creation of final fantasy. His word doesn't mean crap, and he's obviously supporting microsoft because microsoft funds mistwalker........I haven't heard a current member of square enix say the white engine is multiplatform, so until I hear it from someone who actually works there, it's bull.
Also.....sony could throw some "thank" money square enix's way...should it get serious about FFXIII on the 360.
Bioshock started multiplatform pc, ps3, and 360......microsoft later changed their mind and made it pc/360 (money bags). Sony could easily do the same for DMC4/AC6 and any other company that's worked heavily with sony in the past. I think if sony offered a good amount of money, not extravegent, to capcom/namco, they would cancel the 360 version of DMC4 and AC6.
Wardevil: enigma was originall PS3/360.....but they dropped the 360 version so they could focus on 1 console.
ON A RELATED NOTE: I think AC6 is the "assassin creed case" where it was said to be exclusive from the get go, but it wasn't really....just kept under the covers, and the unannounced PS3 version was the 1 they built up from scratch.
Capcom/namco could realize that Sony was a huge part of their success as developers, and take whatever amount of money sony gives them to keep DMC4/AC6 PS3 exclusives (or keep DMC4 on the PC, which isn't half the threat that the 360 version is). And not accept a higher bid from microsoft.
KEEP IN MIND, mose japanese companies prefer sony over microsoft pretty heavily......and you can really expect square enix to keep FFXIII to stay PS3 exclusive for a few reasons. Square enix hates american made consoles. Sony owns 20% of square enix stocks. And square enix said they didn't want sony to be the overwelming winner, or the underwelming loser in the console wars, and the fact that they know microsoft has good 3rd party support makes them look like the underdog right now.
The root of all sony's problems is the PS3 price point. But they are working on that already. They are going to start using 65nm chips, take out a heating pipe (since the 65nm will generate less heat than the 90nm), take out the emotion engine, blu ray is becoming cheaper......and everything in general is becoming cheaper. Another big thorn in sony's side is the last gen PS2, which most of the people currently have still. Once the PS2 dies out (my guess around fall-holidays) most of the PS2 owners will upgrade to the PS3 going by brand name and the game series they love, and that they'll be able to play PS2 games on it. So...PS2 dies out around fall-holiday, a nice PS3 price drop around then will really rake in some PS3 sales.
