Why does it seem like the price of games continues to go up while the length of game play seems to go down? Games like

Heavenly Sword, Assassins Creed and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune (all for PS3) cost 59.99 each, and each less than 8 hours of game play with little or no replay value. Personaly, I would rather see sub-par graphics and gain much more time actually playng the game (i.e. GTA SanAndreas). If anyone could explain why this is please let me know. Also if anyone could recomend any good action/adventure games that dont suffer from this longevity issue I would appriciate that info too. thanks

Either you play them or you don't. Each one of those games is long enough to tell the story. And, I don't see how games really have gotten much more expensive. I still remember paying 60 bucks for Goldeneye and 50 bucks for FF7.

Older games were the same price, WAY shorter, and audio and visuals were alot worse too.

Games were always short.. Look at super mario. I think it's only the fact that you can save your game now.. It was much better getting game over, and having to start ALL again..no?

What do you mean by "old age." Typically the older you get the less time you have for gaming due to work, family, and other resposibilities. So, really, a shorter game is a blessing when you only have an hour to play a night. For a game like Heavenly Sword that's like a week's worth of entertainment.

then start renting games, thats a pretty simple fix instead of complaing about basically ripping your self off. I dont think all games deserve the price either but thats y i only buy ones i know i will want to play often with good MP

I remember plenty of games back in the 8 bit and 16 bit days only being a few hours long. Hell Game 1 "easy" on Adventure on the Atari 2600 took me all of 10 minutes to complete, Game 2 "normal" isn't much longer at all.
