why do so many hate this awesome game? it has everything needed for a fun action packed fps game.. makes no sense to me and i wanna know, whats so bad about it??? of all the recent games i've played, its seems only this one has gotten enough right to keep me playin and will keep me playin for years to come.. stunning graphics, epic sound effects, intriquing story.. are some gamers just ungreatful? the ONLY.. and i mean ONLY bad thing i can possible think of about crysis 2 is unfortunately they added multiplayer, which means atleast a little memory was wasted but its not even noticable.. new game plus garantee's replay value so whats the beef with this game? seriously will somebody explain the hate to me? cause it baffles my mind why anyone would not like this game..

boring characters, bland generic story, bullet sponge enemies.. 2 billion dollar power suit.. can't go prone? seriously.. Crysis 2 was a huge let down, all the BS restrictions they throw at you to make the game more "difficult" is ridiculous.. Whats the point of having this big huge expensive suit on if you could basically complete the game as a normal soldier.. The nano suit and abilites were wasted for the most part.. Graphics were meh, lots of gray and building textures, nothing new there, the sound was mediocre at best (and I'm pretty sure it was compressed because there was quite a bit of audio "crackle" and that only seems to happen when i play games with compressed audio) weapon selection was predictable, mostly standard stuff, and not even very many to choose from, if your gonna put basically "stock" weapons in a game at least give some more options.. The whole game just screamed average.. and yes the multiplayer was a waste. With all the great games across all the systems this gen I don't have much time for this level of mediocrity.

I played the original Crysis. Having played that first, Crysis 2 felt like a step down in basically every direction, aside from the story, perhaps. I only beat it once. Tried going for a replay but didn't get even half way, due to sheer boredom. Crysis 2 was fun one time; Crysis was fun nearly 10 times. You do the math.

Check Youtube videos of how the nano suit functioned in Crysis1 compared to Crysis2. In C1 you had power, speed, cloak and armour and they function uniquely compared to C2 where u only had cloak n armour, made it so boring

boring characters, bland generic story, bullet sponge enemies...

I'll agree that the story isn't exactly killer, but I found it to be better than a lot of other shooters out there like Killzone 2/3 and Battlefield 3's stories.

Could've completed the game as a normal soldier? Are you serious? And the game gives you plenty of options to stretch your nanosuit muscle. There's tons of opprotunities for stealth and such. You can play through much of the game like a regular shooter without using your powers, but the suit gives you many more opprotunities.

Graphics were meh, lots of gray and building textures, nothing new there, the sound was mediocre at best

You gotta be fricking kidding me. From a technical standpoint it's one of the best looking games on the PS3. Much better looking, technically, than most games on the PS3 like Uncharted, Killzone, and Battlefield. The sound wasn't nearly as good as in the original Crysis, but calling it mediocre is a hyperbole.

weapon selection was predictable, mostly standard stuff, and not even very many to choose from, if your gonna put basically "stock" weapons in a game at least give some more options.. The whole game just screamed average.. and yes the multiplayer was a waste. With all the great games across all the systems this gen I don't have much time for this level of mediocrity.

Most weapons were standard affair, but what do you expect when there's a full out war in the middle of Manhattan. A tooth and nail battle for NYC isn't exactly the greatest time to test out some prototypes. And the weapons you were given were more than enough to get the job done. There were a couple of weapons too that I wouldn't consider standard affair, like the microwave gun, or the SMG that shoots electricity. And that grenade launcher isn't exactly average either.

My biggest complaint is the story. For all the crap talkin' the writer did, he sure didn't deliver. Beyond that, it was consolized, whether people/developer want to admit it or not. The game could have been a lot more open in terms of the city and still feel like it was accomplishing it's "concrete jungle" feel. The AI was also pretty effin' bad as well and there were quite a few glitches.

Chill on the attitude, I'm not a multi-player typa person myself but I still find it wrong to go around bashing those who like it. Especially the way you do it.

As for the main topic, persoanlly I liked the single-player (I didn't play the multi-player so I can't judge that). The story was "meh" indeed, nothing was special there. The presentation was spectacular however; the way things happened and buildings collapsed around me made the world feel a bit alive. The environment design is one of the best I have ever seen, in one of the stages when it was raining and I was in some yard between buildings, I stook there for half an hour just checking out the area. I don't understand how people can say the graphics were bad, for me they were simply stunning.

I played Crysis 1 on the PC 4 years ago and the freedom stood out to me the most (I didn't run it at max at that time as my PC sucked, so I didn't witness the graphics everyone was talking about). In here however it felt much, much more suffocating. I felt like the city, while absolutely beautiful, extremely small and linear (note that I'm someone who usually likes linear levels). The powers felt limited as well, all I did was stealth past as many enemies as possible, and when there was a fight I couldn't escape I'd put the armor on and empty my clip. So gameplay wise I felt it was a huge downgrade from Crysis 1.

u should def lose the attitude , have the same respect these members give u.....ur first mistake was this, u thinking the game is great and somewhat perfect, while u and some others did enjoy it, doesnt mean everyone will enjoy it. called opinion. 2nd, i havent played the first game but from what i seen and what i hear, it is a huge step backwards, compared to the freedom u had in C1 than in C2. also while i enjoyed the SP i felt it was too linear and while the city looked beautiful and with all the chaos is happening made the city somewhat alive for me, but also felt i was suffocated, didnt have more room to roam around.

while the nano suit had only 2 options, stealth or armor, it wasnt used properly. i mean u can literary go past the entire game with stealth and when u about to fight one of those fights where u cant escape and have to fight it, u activate ur armor. overall man, it was a decent game just nothing to spectacular like ur making it out to be. if it was for u and others, thats cool im happy for u, but its not like that for everyone, the game has its flaws and i dont see myself playing for years to come like u said as well.. also i think MP was OK actually just too much B.S and lag.

Basically what Joker said. You should not be disrespectful to people who don't get into single player. Diversity is what makes things interesting. That being said, I probably will get this one, but not for awhile...

I personally thought the story was well done. From my experience people only don't like it because it's either not CoD or they don't understand it. It's like MGS storylines, just because they are complicated that automatically means they are terrible? That's wrong.

i dunno.. maybe my tastes in games differ from the many, but i think crysis 2 is one of the best fps games to date aside from deux ex.. sure some things get annoying like having to hear *CLOAK ENGAGED* and every other nano suit move rudely announce itself every single time its used but in time u learn to tone that out.. doesn't take away from the gameplay at all..

Well I thought Crysis 2 had one of the best single player campaigns I've ever played. Hell, I even thought the "Cloak Engaged" and "Nanovision Enabled" were awesome. The game was a sandbox that let's you tackle the enemy in any way you fashion. Stealth, run and gun, stop and pop, environmental death traps, it's however you want to do it. What other game let's you do something like that? Metal Gear? Online was actually pretty fun too, since you had all of your powers there too. I killed a guy once online by kicking a car at him. Camping isn't that big a deal because of Nanovision too.

No offense mate, but every time I see one of your threads you use "you're" incorrectly & it drives me crazy. "you're" is short for "you are"... so you just said "i'm just not understanding you are concept friend"... which doesn't make sense. Sorry to be a "grammar nazi" but it's for YOUR own good lol.

But to stay on topic, I thought Crysis 2 was a good rental at least. The campaign was 3 times as long as Killzone 3 without even going into new game plus, & the multiplayer was more fun in my opinion. I would've liked some co-op and/or split-screen added to it though, so that's why I didn't buy it.

I remember playing Crysis 2 hoping to god that the game would just end. They should have not tried to tell a story and instead just had narrator go "ooohh, shiny graphics, look over there"

i appreciate YOUR concern but i manage.. bad habit i suppose but thanks for enlightening me without tossing insults, english was never my favorite subject in school, guess u can tell.. lol anyways, crysis 2 could've had more areas where u fight *human* enemies i'll admit that, i get really sick of fighting aliens over and over and imo it would've been a hell of a lot better had the game not even had them, but in no way does that kill the fun factor of the game, its still VERY bad @ss.. and contrary to some opinions it has a very decent number of weapons to choose from giving u tons of options for how u wanna battle, i personally luv it, guess opinions are like @ssholes, we all got one.. oh and if YOUR familier with my posts you'll know that i absolutely despise multiplayer so no.. mp should've stayed away in this one, but atleast it didn't kill the game..

I like the 1st and 2nd one, but the 1st is better. I wondered the same thing before playing the 1st, and now I kind of understand the hate, but the 2nd is still a very good game and really only deserves some criticism due to the lack of size in the levels. Though, I didn't know there's a NG+, which is neat (do you know if you can make the difficulty harder on the new game?).

I must agree for once, the MP in Crysis 2 is rather boring and kind of useless.
