Why won't Mercs 2 work online?

So I go to play some Mercs 2 (don't judge me lol) and I cannot join or start an online match, and it keeps on saying that I have failed to connect to the EA servers. I have a good connection and every other online game works fine.

Didn't you know that EA shut down the developers of Mercs 2 who were Pandemic Studios and also shut theservers down now no one will be able to get aplatinumtrophy as CO-OP is in the trophy list. But to be honest Mercs 2 was no where near as good as the original.

I guess that makes me feel a little better. It was never a great game anyways, but I had some fun playing co-op online and by the time I beat the game I had a lot of the trophies so I figured I'd try for the Platinum and this happened.

Actually Pandemic (the brand, not the studio) is still alive.

They are just merged with EALA. That doesn't mean that the brand Pandemic won't continue. Also, support for their recent games are still in effect.

The single player was bad, so no guesses why the (even worse) multiplayer was shut down

the servers arent down i just rented mercs 2 yesterday. and when i was playin som1 joined my game then i got a coop trophy.

i bought mercs 2 tonight at eb games for 3.99 used. i got home and i couldnt play online. it would freeze on the " connecting to servers" screen. so i searched the web, and found out people got it fixed by putting in an older game such as army of two( the first one) and agreeing to ea term and service thingy when they went to play online.

since i didnt have that game, i tried it with the orange box, and connected to team fortress( i had to agree to the ea trems and service"). after doing so, i put mercs 2 in the ps3, and connected online without a problem.

i think u need an oilder ps3 ea game that uses online, so that u can accept the terms and service.
