I have wireless internet setup in my house and I want to hook up a PS3 in the network, wirelessly. Basically I'm just asking if you guys if you think it'll be okay. I know the only way to tell is to try it out, but I don't have that capability yet.

My wireless modem is on the 3rd floor of my house and the 60 gb PS3 is going in the basement. I have a laptop w/ a wireless g card also. When I'm in the basement with my laptop the signal isn't great and it says I have a good or low signal. I can still surf pretty smoothly with the laptop with no apparent lag. My question to you guys is: Will I have a good connection with the PS3? What I don't want to happen is: "Failure to connect to server" when playing Madden online or something else. Do you have to have a very good connection to be productive on the PS3, or can it be less than that?

Thanks.

I have my wireless router on the 2nd floor on the opposite side of my PS3 and it works fine. No issue Message me if you get the failure to connect or DNS problem...I know how to correct that as well.

It all depends on the type/quality of the router that you have. However, when in doubt, you'll need a network expander. Since I don't know your setup, I'll just show two different types and you can go from there.

You could also get the antennae extenders to boost the signal. However, I am hoping that you have, at least, 802.11g, because .11b is a bit too slow. 802.11n is (currently) preferred. I personally like this one... http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1166859632665&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper

I have a wireless motorola router/modem 802.11g. I hope it's good enough. Like I said though, some spot are better than others and my basement doesn't get the best signal. Maybe I'll have to get an expander???
